Best Starmaking Moment - with a side of Deja Vu: Emma Stone

There are stars, and then there are stars, you know? Even though Emma Stone's had a good few years and a REALLY good 2011, she hasn't had that defining role... yet. The one everyone remembers as equal parts incredible acting and indelibly her. I'm sure she's getting scripts, but she's usually a variation on a Sassy Quirky Truth Teller. Full Story
Spider-Man & the Five List
It was all any geek could get to last night: the new Amazing Spider-Man trailer, have you seen it yet? Capitalising on all the activity around the Super Bowl, Sony decided not to join the others in releasing new trailers during the game, but just after the game. Like Beyonce, Spidey wanted all the attention for himself. Full Story

It’s not my favourite; this silhouette never is. Perhaps on someone else I’d be more annoyed than I am. But because it’s Emma Stone, and she has demonstrated a willingness to try new shapes and lines, to not be boxed into one particular look, I’ve a lot more patience for it than, say, if this was worn by Reese Witherspoon. Side trip to Paris?
Jackson Lee/Splash
Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield were photographed arriving at JFK airport in New York yesterday. She was also, a few hours previous, spotted at the airport in Paris without him. Perhaps they arrived there at different times. What was Emma doing in Paris? No one spotted her at any of the haute couture shows. Full Story
GG Best Ensemble Dress: Emma Stone

Emma Stone attended the Golden Globes because The Help was nominated for Best Picture. So...she wasn’t up for an individual award (like last year) but, being a pretty important name now, she was allowed to attend and to sit at a front table and enjoy the evening with the team (unlike Anna Kendrick who, as Sarah mentioned during the liveblog, isn’t enough of a heavyweight, and in her supporting role, to have been granted a seat with the 50/50 people). The Help is surging
The Artist may have won Best Film and Best Director last night but The Help’s victories in acting ensemble and lead and supporting actresses gave it a huge boost as we head toward Oscar nomination day on January 24. The Help is exactly the kind of film the Academy would love to honour. Remember Crash? Crash was a gross simplification. Full Story
Thank you so much, Emma & Andrew

These are the best, and the cutest, so far. Here are Emma and Andrew in New York the other day KISSING! Like, let me push you up against an iron fence and get all horny kissing. Full Story
Best of 2011: Emma and Andrew
Here’s the opposite of Scarjo and Sean Penn: one of my favourite hook ups of the year, aside from Blake Lively/Leonardo DiCaprio/Blake Lively/Ryan Reynolds. With Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield I’m happy about them on a pure level, not just for gossip’s sake, although that’s great too, but in a fangirl sense where I just want them to be them, together, and so well matched and adorable. For weeks, as you know, I’ve been fangirl whining about the fact that they’ve come close to holding hands but haven’t quite given it up.Well, they gave it up this weekend. Check out Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield, in New York yesterday, totally fulfilling my (stalkery) wish and getting coupley all music video styles and it’s as cute as I imagined it. Full Story

Dear Gossips,
I keep loving Emma Stone more and more. So much that I almost want her to do something medium annoying, just to manage expectations, like a pause in her ascent, to prevent the hasty and inevitable opposite that happens to all of them who become too popular, too perfect. But I don’t want Emma to fall. At least not yet. Right now Emma is just right. Wasn’t she just right and great on Saturday Night Live? Wasn’t she one of the stronger hosts you’ve seen recently? Didn’t she hold her own among the veterans? How cute was she with Andrew Garfield? How cute was he when he was, um, awkward dork clapping at the very end during her farewell? How much do I love them together? A lot. But mostly I just love her. And so does everyone else in that business. They all want to work with her, they all want to represent her, they all want to find projects for her, Emma is as hot as it gets in the business right now. Read Full Intro
Everything’s going great
Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield went to the movies the other day after getting something to eat. You know, like a regular date. And everything’s going great. Do they talk about how awesome it’s been for them, personally and professionally? Emma’s on a high from The Help and the wicked run she’s had for the last 18 months. Full Story
Viola in the right category
Wenn, Splash
Viola Davis was joined by Emma Stone, Octavia Spencer, and director Tate Taylor to promote The Help in Madrid today. Right now she’s an early lock for one of the five spots in the Best Actress category for the Oscar. NOT Supporting. Best. And word is she campaigned for that. Supposedly she insisted on her role being considered in the lead category even though some say she’d have a better shot at it if nominated in Supporting. Full Story
