Rupert Grint (Ron Weasley), Evanna Lynch (Luna Lovegood), Warwick Davis (Prof Flitwick), Tom Felton (Draco Malfoy), and director David Yates attended a photo call at Leavesden Studios today to open the Warner Bros Making of Harry Potter studio tour. Where’s NEVILLE?????????????????????????Leavesden is where they filmed. Full Story
Ron, Cedric, Draco - Accio 2005!
A reader called Tina just sent me a photo of a little Harry Potter reunion that happened at the Teen Choice Awards last night. I opened the message to find Rupert Grint, Robert Pattinson, and Tom Felton gathered backstage. Cute, right? (Lorella - check the slope.) Anyway, then I started wondering when a picture like this last happened. Full Story
Together again for the last time
So here they are, on a carpet for Harry Potter for the very last time, in the sweltering heat of a New York City afternoon. Rupert’s head was totally wet by the time he went into the theatre. Daniel’s too. Emma, stayed remarkably dry. Makes such a difference having bare shoulders out there. Full Story
Snape & Jo! And ... they all say goodbye
Massive premiere in London today – the final, final, FINAL carpet for the Harry Potter series in the motherland. There will be a premiere in New York on Monday but ... Harry is English, England is the heart of it. And here they almost all are to say goodbye and thank you. No, thank YOU. F-ck me I am crying again. Full Story
I will never be ready
Two weeks ago tomorrow I went to an advance screening of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 and almost had to be carried out of the theatre. Laura, who was sitting next to me, said that at one point, she looked over and saw me in the fetal position. The next day I flew to New York to interview Daniel Radcliffe for the very last time, after five years of seeing him every year, sometimes twice. Full Story
The End is back to the Beginning
Are you ready for The End? It All Ends. Soon. I have seen The End, in 3D, and while I cannot tell you much about it yet (due to the studio’s embargo), what I can say is that I loved it, and that Laura loved it, and that I still haven’t recovered. Nerd? Totally. But yesterday Dean, who was cutting my interview with Daniel Radcliffe (the last one ever, sob!), took me to the edit suite to see how the story came together and I cried watching the clips, the old footage, when they were so little, integrated with the scenes from Harry Potter at the Deathly Hallows Part 2. What is Pottermore?
If you’re a Harry Potter nerd, you were likely caught up in it yesterday. If you missed it, click here for a backgrounder. So...what is it? JK Rowling launched the Pottermore site – here (note the Sorting Hat in the URL hee!) – but without much more information. Full Story
Ron in a word: Hot
I have friends, and I won’t out you Michelle, who’ve always had some “I shouldn’t be feeling this way” quiver about Rupert Grint/Ron Weasley. Never seen it myself…until now. Another Harry Potter moment that will make you cry. Steel yourselves. The cast members were asked to, for Empire (they had AMAZING access to promote the final), sum up their Harry Potter experience in One Word. Full Story
Ron Weasley has a girlfriend!
Rupert Grint is apparently no longer single. Heartbreaker. The Mirror spotted Rupe on Thursday night at a pub in Camden holding hands with Georgia Groome. There’s also another Harry Potter connection. They were there to support George Craig. George is the on/off boyfriend of Emma Watson. Full Story
SOOOO cute
My friend Michelle C just sent this to me. It’s a deleted scene from Harry Potter 7A, on DVD April 11th, featuring Hermione and Ron throwing rocks into the sea. I agree with the editing, it’s totally superfluous, but I challenge you, as an HP fan, to watch this without giggling, or at least an awww-ish smile. Full Story
BAFTA Ron Weasley: Rupert Grint
He was there to celebrate Harry Potter’s Outstanding British Contribution To Cinema. Good timing. The BAFTAs are sandwiched between the release of the Deathly Hallows Part 1, which of course happened in November, and Part 2 which is scheduled for July 15th. Is it July 15th yet? Among so many other things, I want to see how it plays out, when Ron and Hermione finally acknowledge their love. Full Story
Harry Potter money buys toilet seats
Favourite photos of the day. Rupert Grint was photographed at Heathrow today carting along a Japanese Toilet Seat. No, for real. According to the photo agency, this Japanese Toilet “offers features such as slow closing, electronic bidet, and warm heated seat”. OMG. Is this what I need for my poo problem? Part of it is totally psychological for me. Full Story
On Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows Part 1
Please note that the following post is heavy on spoilers. Do you re-read them before you see them? I always do. Because I’m a nerd that way, yes, but also because it’s fascinating to see how even the smallest details are interpreted for the screen. I loved for example how Voldemort completely emasculates Lucius Malfoy when he takes his wand. Full Story
Ginger, cherries, is it November yet?
Fack! But at least now it’s less than 3 months away. The release of Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows Part 1, what else? For now then Rupert Grint is promoting another project – the DVD release for his movie Cherrybomb today in London. Rupert apparently delivers a stirring and powerful performance in his penultimate turn as Ron Weasley. Full Story
