Love Vera Farmiga. Sometimes she dresses like a crazy person though. Remember this? Vera did much better on the cover of the new issue of NUVO Magazine. Beautiful. My favourite story about Vera is how honest she is about Up In The Air, specifically that she’d just had a baby before starting work on it and the studio called over - God studio executives are assholes - and wanted her to lose more weight. Her dress at the Oscars was rather unpopular. And now this at the Costume Institute Gala. So ... is it official? To declare that Vera Farmiga has bad taste? Because... Like... Even if you don’t mind the colour (to me it’s offensive), and even if you can forgive those bo peep bonnet sleeves (they’re embarrassing), and even if you can overlook those tacky aunt curtains hanging off the bottom (come into my saloon!), how can you possibly justify that limp ass ribbon dangling between her breasts? Today was the annual Academy Awards Nominee Luncheon. Notably absent: George Clooney. It’s a non-campaign year for Clooney. Looks like he’s conceding early to Jeff Bridges. But enough of the boys. For months I’ve been yapping about this girl – Anna Kendrick’s performance in Up In The Air is so impressive, she’s already being buzzed about as a possible Best Supporting Actress nominee, she’s been named one of the Top 25 to watch, and she’ll receive the Rising Star Award at the Palm Springs Film Festival in January.
