We have a very specific way of covering major award shows here at LaineyGossip; it takes us longer but it’s only because we want to talk about everything like you’re talking about everything when you were watching, instead of just throwing up the pictures right away.

Also, we love to argue about it. And we love when you yell at us after. So here are the highlights and the WTFs and the oh God WHYYYY Anne Hathaway moments from these Oscars. Please tweet us @duanaelise and @LaineyGossip or email us and shout. This is the point.

But before we begin, thank you to our coverage sponsors VH Steamers for their support and for making possible the biggest prize package in our contest’s history -- $5000 and a Prada Bag! Cash money and an accessory! Did you enter? How did you do? Did you smoke everyone in your pool? Last year’s winner predicted 21/24 categories correctly.  Are you close?  We’re tallying the entries now and will be reaching out to the winner later this week so stay close to your email.

Lastly, if you gorged yourself this Oscar weekend and need to regain some discipline (and get in some veggies and protein as opposed to chips and chocolate), make sure to grab a VH Steamers frozen entrée in support of our sponsor next time you’re grocery shopping. I recommend the Green Curry Chicken – it’s a fragrant dish and the creamy green curry sauce really makes the chicken, rice and veggies very flavourful. They just came out with two new flavours – Sweet & Sour Chicken and Sweet & Spicy Dumplings – have you tried them yet?  You can check out all 10 of their great Asian dishes on their Facebook page here

And finally…one of the best photos of the night:

Barbra Streisand, Adele, and Shirley Bassey. Come ON.

Did you cry at The Way We Were? For an otherwise weak show, it was, to me, one of the best In Memoriams in recent years. That song will always do it for me. But, because it’s Barbra, given her history, there was the sense that she truly understood the magnitude of those losses. Duana wasn’t feeling it as much as I did. I was weeping in the press room.

And here we go!
