They were essentially saying the same thing, Daniel Day-Lewis and Ben Affleck, right? They were appreciating their supportive wives. Ben chose to phrase it so that it was his wife’s primary responsibility to “work” on their marriage. DDL acknowledged that his wife had to deal with his artistic eccentricities, and somehow it was charming, while Ben’s probably didn’t sit well with many of us, right? What’s the difference? Is it the accent? Is it that DDL is a more accomplished public speaker? And the way the Miller-Day-Lewises behave on the campaign circuit as opposed to the Afflecks? All of the above? The Academy announced today that Jack Nicholson and Dustin Hoffman will present at the Oscars on Sunday. Some call Nicholson the unofficial mascot of the Oscars. And Hoffman, well, you don’t need me to explain why he’s a legend. Needless to say, then, given the gravitas of both actors, we should probably see them towards the end of the show. Full Story
