Two new tv spots were released yesterday for Les Miserables, my favourite movie of the year. I already know it will be. I know I will love it. There is no way I won’t love it. Four new posters for the upcoming Les Miserables -- THE MOST ANTICIPATED MOVIE OF THE HOLIDAY SEASON (Hobbit what?) -- have been released but... and you know how much I love Les Miserables ... I hate them. Hate the cheesy tag lines even if they’re germane to the story (Heart Full Of Love on a poster, I don’t care how hard you try to argue it, is never not eye-rolly) and hate especially how glossy the women are. Full Story

Looks like Annie’s going hard for that nomination.  Here’s the first look at Anne Hathaway in costume as Fantine for Les Miserables, on location in London yesterday with Hugh Jackman. Hugh Jackman was on Conan this week. He entered the studio by imitating Conan. Perfectly. The one-two hip check? Amazing. Needless to say he was brilliant, and funny, and charming, and wore his suit beautifully, and continues to prove that he really is the nicest man in the business even when he’s supposed to nice, because everyone is nice on talk shows, you can tell he’s genuinely nice. Full Story

Hugh Jackman - Back on Broadway will be at the Broadhurst Theatre next week for previews on October 25 and opens on November 10 for a 10 week run. He started rehearsing at the venue just this week. I LOVE Les Miserables. Both the novel and the musical. In a very, very personal way. In the way you love something for what you associate it with the first time you read it or see it, and what that meant to you,  and how that meaning evolves. Les Miserables is not A Prayer For Owen Meany. You don’t love it as a young adult and hate it in your 30s. Full Story
