He looked sad last night at the end of the Closing Ceremony, didn't he? He looked...bereft. And God I wish they cut away to him more often. There was a shot of him and Kate whistling but wouldn't you have preferred to see him getting down to Taio Cruz? Saying ay-oh? There was a LOT of squee yesterday over those shots of Prince William and his Catherine hugging each other excitedly at the velodrome. More on that in a minute. The three of them, Will, Kate, and Harry too, they’ve been busy through the Games, out almost every day. Harry was particularly active on Thursday stopping in at Canada House, hosting a reception for School Games athletes (where he had to wear the dreaded dinner jacket), and of course, with his brother and sister-in-law cheering on Team GB and Sir Chris Hoy. Full Story

Zara did not medal herself but of all people, with her family origins, she’d be the first to say the individual is not important. As for Will and Kate... Catherine Cambridge was not with Princes William and Harry as were agonising over men’s gymnastics yesterday and Team GB’s remarkable achievement. Instead she was probably getting ready to attend the UK’s Creative Industries Reception at the Royal Academy of Arts. Here’s Kate in dove grey and a regal updo which, I mean, I know she’s a royal person and these hairstyles are kind of expected from royal ladies but I dunno, it’s not my favourite and I also think it’s way too fancy for what she’s wearing. Full Story

Zara Phillips competed in cross-country equestrian today at the Olympics. She had her very own Royal Cheering Section and she finished under the limit in front of her family fans which included Prince William and his Catherine, Prince Harry, Princesses Eugenie and Beatrice, and Camilla too.
