Mark Rylance is a well-respected actor and he was the only part of Bridge Of Spies that was remotely interesting because let’s face it, the film was boring and the only reason why it even got invited was SPIELBERG. Without taking anything away from Mark’s talent though, he won because the Academy didn’t want Sylvester Stallone to win. Full Story

While Sly Stallone was celebrating his Oscar nomination, his director, Ryan Coogler, who was not recognised by the Academy, was at the AARP Awards as Creed was named Best Intergenerational Movie. How’s that for diversity? He not only gave us a new Rocky, with a black future, but also represented maturity – which is not typically a treasured quality in Hollywood. Full Story

You’re looking at what could be the Best Supporting Actor and Actress at the Oscars on February 28th. Sylvester Stallone and Alicia Vikander were both at the Oscar Nominees Luncheon yesterday and then at The Hollywood Reporter party afterwards. Sly seems to be in the lead right now in his race but there could still be a surprise. Full Story

There’s a really great double profile on Ryan Coogler and Michael B Jordan in the new issue of New York Magazine this week. The interview took place just before Christmas. Shanice’s I Love Your Smile is mentioned early on in the piece. So, obviously, I loved every word. What I love most though is how these two want to work, the projects they talk about, and how those projects will not only change the conversation about diversity in film but also begin a new conversation about black film. Full Story

BALBOA!!! For months I've been hoping for this one. Sylvester Stallone is the sentimental favourite of this award season. He received the standing ovation to prove it. But up until last night, though it seems hard to believe now, he was not the frontrunner. Some experts didn't even have him on their predictions lists as late as last week. Full Story

Please tell me you’ve seen Creed. Creed was my favourite movie of 2015. It was on Sarah’s Top 10 of 2015 – click here if you missed that. And it was a box office success, honouring the Rocky franchise’s legacy and introducing it to a new generation. Full Story

This is what I mean when I say I’m torn. Because I love Idris. But this won’t be Idris’s only opportunity, only award season. For Sylvester Stallone as Rocky, well, it’s not going to happen again. And so far it’s my favourite story of award season, as you know, because I can’t shut up about it. Full Story

Creed opens on Wednesday just in time for the Thanksgiving holiday box office in the United States. The early reviews are solid. Actually, more than solid. Some are saying this is the best installment in the Rocky franchise since the original. Um. EXCUSE ME. Better than Rocky IV? When Rocky punched out Communism? As I’ve written, many, many times already, Rocky IV is my favourite. Full Story

Michael B Jordan and Sly Stallone are in Philadelphia shooting Creed. It’s another Rocky movie. Except… wait for it… this time Rocky’s training Apollo Creed’s son, played by Jordan. Um. I totally want to see this movie. Allison Williams was at the Michael Kors presentation at NY Fashion Week today, I think her first public appearance since it all went to sh-t with her dad. Full Story
