The Walking Dead 3.2: “Consider yourselves the lucky ones”
The Walking Dead Season 3 Episode 1 recap Picking up right where episode one left off, with Hershel’s leg amputated and a group of strangers happening upon Rick & Co. The others are a group of prisoners. Rick & Co. are like, get the F*CK out of our way while we try and save this dude, and the prisoners are all, WTF? Despite the huge ratings over the last couple years, I feel like The Walking Dead doesn’t get enough credit for the stellar quality of filmmaking (tele-making?) that goes on. Full Story
The Walking Dead 3.1
The Walking Dead Season 3 Episode 1 recap Yay The Walking Dead is back and the first thing we get to see is a zombie eyeball. Oh, Walking Dead. You do so know what we like. Without Stupid Shane wrecking the dynamic, we can finally get to Daryl serving as Officer Rick’s second. This is already so much more compelling, as it’s actual action and not standing around talking. Full Story

The third season of The Walking Dead starts on Sunday night —I will be recapping episodes on Mondays again—and it looks to be the darkest season yet. It’s also the first season that is free of Frank Darabont. Season two was really uneven and you could clearly see where the network’s ideas had been stitched together over the remains of Darabont’s plan. Full Story

Not that it hasn’t been good in the past. It has been very, very good. When The Walking Dead works it works beyond well. It’s like watching a movie on TV—the pilot remains one of the best things I’ve ever seen produced for television. But as good as it can be, there’s nothing more frustrating than The Walking Dead, either. Full Story

Here we are at the season finale, with chaos about to rain down on the farm. But first, we get to revisit zombie-infested Atlanta, and some zombies following that helicopter Rick saw back in the pilot. The zombies pass through the highway where the group broke down at the beginning of season 2, and now they’re descending on Hershel’s farm. Full Story

The Walking Dead season 2 Episode 12 recapI don’t think The Walking Dead season 2 is a total loss. On the whole, it has more to recommend it than most shows. But the missed opportunities and squandering of one of the most interesting stories on television is frustrating, week in, week out. I’m ready for season 2 to be over. Full Story
The Walking Dead Episode 11: Let’s stand around and talk some more

The Walking Dead Season 2 Episode 11 recap Daryl is in charge of torturing Randall. Poor Randall. He probably wishes Rick left him to the zombies at this point. Randall says there are 30 men in the group he came from, heavily armed. He alludes to the group assaulting a survivor’s teenage daughters. This hits Daryl really, really hard. Full Story

The Walking Dead Season 2 Episode 10 recapThe cure for Oscar hangover? A new episode of The Walking Dead.Oh look, zombies! I feel like we haven’t seen zombies in forever. Stupid AMC brass and their whole “hey, let’s do a zombie show with fewer zombies, to save money, even though the ad rates on said zombie show are the highest on our network”. Full Story
The Walking Dead episode 9: Stupid Shane gets scary

The Walking Dead Season 2 Episode 9We start with Horrible Lori in the overturned car, now beset by zombies, of course. The women of TWD are good for two things: 1) being bitches and 2) getting into trouble from which men must rescue them. At this point, this is the single most unattractive issue of the show. The Walking Dead episode 8: Once more into the breach
The Walking Dead Season 2 Episode 8 recapThings we know going into part 2 of The Walking Dead season 2:Officer Rick: Putting the “reluctant” in “reluctant hero”Horrible Lori: Pregnant and still horribleStupid Shane: Completely batsh*t crazyCarl: Miraculously recovered from serious gunshot woundSophia: Got zombified, as expected, put down by RickAll the women: Are bitches, it’s upsettingFarm Cannibals: Kept zombies in the barn, which backfiredOnto the second half of season two! We’re picking up immediately where we left off, with Rick having just shot down Zombie Sophia. The Walking Dead season 2 episode 7 recap Downside: It’s the midseason finale, which means no more recaps until the New Year. Upside: We get a much needed break from Stupid Shane.Look at Andrea turning into Commando Barbie, sharpening knives and sh*t.Like everyone on this show, Daryl has made a miraculously quick recovery from a serious injury. The Horrible Confession
The Walking Dead Season 2 Episode 6 recapCarl makes a miraculous recovery, is up and helping Horrible Lori with farm chores just days after being seriously wounded. His acting, however, remains mortally injured.A creepy farm cannibal (where do these new people keep coming from?) breaks some chickens’ legs and takes them to feed the barn zombies. Full Story
The Walking Dead episode 5: In which things get impossibly worse

The Walking Dead season 2 episode 5 recap Another cold-open flashback, this time of a traffic jam that shows us the survivors finding each other on the highway. Revisiting Carol’s horrid husband, I’m still glad he got eaten by zombies in season one. We see the military napalming the streets of Atlanta, Redeker-styles. Full Story
The Walking Dead 2.4: Where did they get Otis's body?
