Well, we've been waiting for it, haven't we? I have. Ever since Ben Affleck put Sienna Miller in his movie, I've been calling for it. And here it is. Check out Ben and Sienna on the set of Live By Night, kissing in character. Is it hitting you where your gossip lives? Um. Medium? Like I could totally, totally see it. Full Story

Matt Damon is in Berlin this week continuing to work on the new Bourne and, seemingly, staying away from awards campaigning. Which certainly makes him look a lot less hungry for it than, say, Leonardo DiCaprio. But considering that there might be a 6th man out in the Best Actor race, I do wish he'd step on it a little, just so Leo doesn't walk away with it like it's belonged to him the entire time. Full Story

Sarah is American and I feel bad asking her to write a Star Wars post on her Thanksgiving break so you’re stuck with me for this Star Wars article. Another TV spot was released yesterday. At first I was like, Jesus, does Star Wars really need to build all this anticipation? EVERYONE is going to see Star Wars. Full Story

In 2010, the world was captivated by the real life drama of thirty-three Chilean miners trapped underground in a collapsed gold and copper mine. Sixty-nine days later a miracle was achieved when all thirty-three men were rescued, starved but alive. Interviews, television appearances, and books followed, and a film adaptation was inevitable. Full Story

Will Smith for President?

Will Smith is promoting Concussion. He’s been featured in multiple interviews this week and, unfortunately, most of them don’t feature Samuel L Jackson. Concussion is the true story of neuropathologist Dr Bennet Omalu’s work exposing what playing American style football can do a player’s brain based on a 2009 investigate report in GQ Magazine written by Jeanne Marie Laskas. Full Story

Why not Olivia Wilde?

Olivia Wilde is not just underrated, her talents are undervalued. That's my takeaway from watching her latest indie, Meadowland, about a mother struggling with a cloud of grief and guilt one year after her son's abduction. Think Rabbit Hole, but less bougie and with a smaller focus on marital strife. Full Story

In 2010 Argentinian thriller El Secreto de Sus Ojos won the Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film, beating out A Prophet and The White Ribbon. It also did very good business for a subtitled import, topping $6 million at the box office, which means it found a considerable audience in the US. It did not need to be remade at all, so, naturally, it got an English-language remake just a few years later. Full Story

Tom Cruise vs. The Mummy

Wenn, Splash News

We have a little bit of a trade war going on over Tom Cruise. Yesterday, Variety reported that Cruise was in talks to star in a reboot of the Brendan Fraser classic, The Mummy. Universal plans to use The Mummy reboot to launch a Marvel-style cinematic universe around their classic movie monsters (ugh), so this would make The Mummy Redux like the Iron Man of that universe, and Tom Cruise the Tony Stark, which is apt because Cruise was once on the list to play the actual Tony Stark. Full Story

Captain America: Civil War – Whose side are you on?

In a surprise move, Marvel dropped the first trailer for Captain America: Civil War last night on Jimmy Kimmel Live (thanks to some Grade-A studio f*ckery, expect to see a new trailer from DC soon, too). Trying to keep up with their bosses’ brinksmanship may drive everyone at Marvel Studios and Warner Brothers/DC completely insane, but so long as we get to break down Civil War, I’m fine with that. Full Story

The Revenant has been screening in LA for Academy members the last few days and the response has been very, very positive. As you know, The Revenant is Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu’s follow-up to Birdman, the reigning Best Picture. As you know, the shoot was difficult, it was delayed, it was expensive, and he was reportedly a dick to the crew. Full Story

Tom Hardy is BANANAS in Legend

Unfortunately, the movie does not live up to the totally insane bar that Tom Hardy is setting. In Legend Hardy stars as Ronnie and Reggie Kray, a pair of Cockney gangster twins in the London of the swinging 1960s. Reggie Kray is relatively straight-laced, the twin with the business sense who runs their would-be criminal empire. Full Story

Like many of you, I thought I’d want to see a photo of Brad Pitt and Ryan Gosling side by side. At one time, I thought that might be photo I could add to my spank bank. Right now, my spank bank consists mostly of Charlie Hunnam. Sometimes a little variety helps, you know? But this? Not what I had in mind. Full Story
