Prince Harry’s collar and cloak
Prince Harry joined his grandfather yesterday on a visit to Westminster Abbey to commemorate upcoming Armistice Day. I was in London around this time a couple of years ago. The “field of poppies” is incredibly moving. Each poppy is attached to a cross, and each cross represents a life lost in service of country. There are rows and rows and rows and rows and rows of them. It doesn’t stop.
Prince Philip opens the Field of Remembrance every year. But this is the first time that Prince Harry has been at his side. Harry is being asked to take on a larger role in the family business. And, given his association with the armed forces, this is a natural addition to his duties. Also, he looks SO GOOD in a cloak.
While Harry was honouring veterans, his brother Prince William, who is President of the Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust, spent time shadowing medical staff during surgeries. He observed a removal of a bladder tumour and also breast reconstruction surgery. Sh-t, I get f-cked up just having my blood taken. There is no way I could get through this. And how is it for the surgeons performing the procedure? Would you get nervous if the future King of England was watching you? If you were the patient, would you want to risk your surgeon being nervous?!
