I might still be able to quote Pretty Woman, line by line, as disturbing as it is now that I’m not 16 anymore and thinking how awesome it would be to be a prostitute given a credit card by a rich dude in a Lotus. Oh Vivian Ward. Oh Julia Roberts. I know, I know, Julia Roberts. But despite how age, education, and experience have changed your perspective on the movie, can you honestly deny how charming she was? That if you were to watch it again now, after having seen it too many times, you still can’t take your eyes off of her? And why it was instant? Super stardom, after this, was instant. There was no other possibility.
It’s also why this article is about her even though the picture is of Emma Watson.

Is it terrible that, after all this time, I can’t help but smile when she delivers that line? You know the line?
“If I forget to tell you later, I had a really good time tonight.”
Come on. She was irresistible.
