If you read my site regularly you’ll know this isn’t the first time I’ve mentioned my obsession with capes. Here’s a recent example. Here’s another. So no, this isn’t just about my Gwyneth, actually; it’s also about the Cape first, and a Cape designed by Tom Ford was the closest we came to a game changer last night at the Oscars.
Gwyneth Paltrow’s red carpet presentation was PERFECT. She had the height for it. She has the body for it. She has the personality for it. (Tom Ford wouldn’t let some Mara slink around in one of his capes.) She has just the right amount of irreverence for it. She had the right hair styled for it. And the accessories too. How much do you want that cuff???
And you know, that bit with RDJ on stage, that worked for me too. I get it if it wasn’t your thing. I get it because for those of you who just don’t like her on principle (Duana), her voice, as soon as you hear it, can trigger something foul in your brain, sure.
But those two do have great chemistry. And if Gwyneth is among friends anywhere, it’s at the Oscars. Gwyneth is comfortable here. You know who didn’t look comfortable here? Oh yeah, that would be Angelina Jolie.
Coincidence or conspiracy?
