Harry in a tuxedo mentions his mother
It’s always a headline whenever either of Diana’s boys remembers their mother. They know this, especially Prince William. Which is why he is particularly deliberate about when to invoke her memory. He did so most recently when an Italian magazine published photos of him with his wife on holiday in Mustique while they walked on a public beach, clearing his aides to release the following statement:
"The incident is reminiscent of the worst excesses of the press and paparazzi during the life of Diana, princess of Wales, and all the more upsetting to The Duke and Duchess for being so."
The nude shots on a private residence in France? Fine. On a public beach? It’s a little heavy handed, non?
Here’s Hot Harry in Johannesburg (does it bother you when people call it Jo-burg? It’s usually a dick-swinging douchebag who keeps blinding you with his watch too) at a fundraising gala for his foundation Sentebale last night. This mention of his mother is much sweeter and hits the perfect note:
"It seems only right that (the facility we are building) should be named after His Majesty (of Lesotho) and Prince Seeiso's mother, Queen Mamohato Bereng Seeiso. She was so loved as the mother of the nation. I hope she would be proud of what we are trying to achieve in her name. I hope that my mother will be proud, too. Maybe, just maybe, they are together somewhere up there, with blueprints and sketches already mapped out. I can only hope we put the swings in the right place."
Please. If I had the money, I would have written him a cheque immediately.
