21 Jump Street will be hitting theatres in a few weeks. As I’m sure you probably know, it’s the theatrical adaptation of 80’s TV series about high-school narcs but instead of Johnny Depp and Peter DeLuise, it’s  Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill and, frankly, as I’ve been saying for a while now, it looks hilarious. The trailer is below.

The build-up to the premiere is starting already.  In anticipation of the theatrical release and to highlight the bond between the new Jump Street’s stars (Tatum and Hill), we’re featuring a series of posts celebrating Hollywood Bromances.

First up…because their relationship has endured 15 years of fame now, can you believe it?... Matt Damon and Ben Affleck. Sometimes I forget they are responsible for Robin Williams’s Oscar. Trippy, right?

Matt and Ben have made it through Minnie Driver, Gwyneth, Winona, and, of course, Jennifer Lopez. The Red Sox won the World Series. The Bruins won the Stanley Cup. The Patriots won the Super Bowl three times. There was some rehab (Ben) along the way. While Ben’s career was derailed, Matt’s soared for Bourne. Then, somehow, Ben directed his way back, and they both became family men, and are curiously both super potent, going on SEVEN children between them. Please. Let me stop you before you go there. NO. They are NOT lovers.

In the action-comedy 21 Jump Street, Schmidt (Jonah Hill) and Jenko (Channing Tatum) are more than ready to leave their adolescent problems behind. Joining the police force and the secret Jump Street unit, they use their youthful appearances to go undercover in a local high school. As they trade in their guns and badges for backpacks, Schmidt and Jenko risk their lives to investigate a violent and dangerous drug ring. But they find that high school is nothing like they left it just a few years earlier—and neither expects that they will have to confront the terror and anxiety of being a teenager again and all the issues they thought they had left behind.
