One of the main features of this blog, and maybe the reason it exists, is to celebrate Mariah Carey and, in particular, the fact that she doesn't walk. I have dedicated probably hundreds of posts to this beautiful truth. All of those articles were uploaded with joy and gratitude. But none of them can now compare to this one and what you are about to see. Full Story

Over the weekend I emailed Lainey all excited about Maya Rudolph and Martin Short’s new variety show. Does this make me deeply uncool? Yes, but in a week being dominated by Taylor and Kanye’s mutual f-ckery, I’d like to take a break from all-cap tweets and haughty publicists to talk about two really talented people. Full Story

It’s been a week since Mimi and James Packer got engaged. Last night she accompanied him to the G’Day Los Angeles Gala for their first official appearance since he put that monster of a rock on her finger. Look at all that happiness on her face. That’s a glow only money can buy. Full Story

Twitter’s been on the financial pages lately because of its stock price. Don’t worry. I’m not going to become a financial analyst here. I’m just pointing out that the company’s share values have been dropping and that yesterday there was reason for investors to feel more confident about the service. Full Story

Kanye West has a new album coming out on February 11. It was called Swish. Then he decided to change the title to Waves. Not sure why but maybe something to do with Nike and how he sh-ts on Nike all the time? Whatever. Doesn’t matter the reason. What matters is that Wiz Khalifa, who is the father of Amber Rose’s child, and Amber Rose and Kanye used to deal way back, doesn’t think much of Waves: Please don't take the wave. Full Story

Here’s your feel-good story of the day. Nate Parker, the actor best known for Beyond the Lights, basically quit acting right when he was getting some traction off that movie in order to make Birth of a Nation, about Nat Turner and his doomed slave revolt in the 1830s. Parker produced, directed, and stars in the movie, and he also co-wrote the screenplay. Full Story

Coldplay is officially the headliner at the Super Bowl halftime show this year. But as soon as it was confirmed that Beyonce would join them as a special guest… well… you know. You. Know. Beyonce doesn’t back up anyone. B was rehearsing at USC yesterday and according to E! Full Story
