Movie Reviews and Previews Articles
Well this looks promising
Feels like a trailer storm, doesn’t it? So many new trailers, so many new movies... I just want to get to The Hunger Games. I don’t care about anything else. I might however consider going in August go see The Bourne Legacy in theatres based on this trailer. Not for Renner, who does look impressive but his gross hands grossed me out in M:I4, but for Edward Norton. Full Story
Spider-Man & the Five List
It was all any geek could get to last night: the new Amazing Spider-Man trailer, have you seen it yet? Capitalising on all the activity around the Super Bowl, Sony decided not to join the others in releasing new trailers during the game, but just after the game. Like Beyonce, Spidey wanted all the attention for himself. Full Story
Easing in with Mark Ruffalo & The Avengers
Fame/Flynet
It’s just one of those days when everything is taking a little longer and the Madonna article will require some thought. So can we ease in with a quick Mark Ruffalo post and a very favourable effort to enjoyment ratio? Here he is on the set of Now You See Me in New Orleans on Saturday. He co-stars with Jesse Eisenberg. Here it is!With 50 days to go until The Hunger Games opens, we now have another preview.I love it when she pleads with Gale to make sure her family doesn’t starve. Blake Lively took a hit earlier this week as it was announced she’d lost out on the lead in Steven Soderbergh’s new project, now re-titled Bitter Pill, to Rooney Mara. Now some positive news to balance. Oliver Stone’s Savages was originally scheduled for a September release. Full Story
Les Miserables > Les Mis
FameFlynet
By far the most popular subject in my inbox today. We don’t have to call it Les Mis anymore. It will be as Hugo intended it: Les Miserables. Click here for a refresher on the difference between Les Miserables and Les Mis. I’m sure you’ve heard, right?Taylor Swift is not Eponine. Full Story
So...is Emma Frost coming back?
Remember when January Jones got pregnant and wouldn’t tell anyone who the father was and everyone thought it was Matthew Vaughn, the director of X-Men: First Class and husband of Claudia Schiffer even though he denied it?Barely.January Jones is the beigest gossip protagonist ever.Anyway, it’s been confirmed that Vaughn will be back to direct an X-Men sequel, bringing back James McAvoy as Charles Xavier and Michael Fassbender as Magneto. This is Ryan Reynolds in Spain promoting Safe House with Denzel Washington. They’re on the press tour through Europe before the North American premiere. I’m told Ryan said a very sweet goodbye to his girlfriend Blake Lively the other day and that she sent him away with a care package that included homemade baked goods. Full Story
Sundance 2012 wrap up
Speaking to a long-time buyer at Sundance as she waited for her flight home to Los Angeles, she said of the 2012 festival, “This was a weird year. There was nothing that felt like lightning in a bottle, and nothing that screamed, ‘Buy me!’ either. There was a lot of nice stuff, perfectly good movies, but I didn’t HAVE to have any of it. Already? I guess. This Means War opens on Valentine’s Day. Reese Witherspoon, Chris Pine, and Tom Hardy are now in Europe promoting the movie. Tonight was the UK premiere. Reese was green and sparkly with a new fringe. Mistake! In the film, Reese plays the love interest for both Chris and Tom as they attempt to blow each other apart to win her undivided attention. Blake Lively girl drama
I’ll admit up front that I’m not a fan of Blake Lively. So take all this with a grain of salt. I’d love to be able to point and laugh and go, “Haha, everyone hates Blake Lively.”But a development broke last night that had me thinking I might be too hard on Lively, at least some of the time. After all, for all her chicanery—the nekkid cell phone photos, the rumors, the uptradey ways with men—at the end of the day, I don’t dislike her so much I’d jeopardize a film project over it. Anne Hathaway and her fiancé Adam Shulman departed LA for London where Taylor Swift was photographed confiding in the swans yesterday. I didn’t realise until I saw Anne...That Taylor is there to start “becoming” Eponine, thereby turning Les Miserables into the dreaded “Les Mis” Full Story
Gina Carano’s fake Haywire voice
Gossip is a buffet and today we’re serving three entrees.Steven Soderbergh’s new movie Haywire opens this weekend. It stars MMA star Gina Carano. I’m not an MMA fan nor had I ever heard of Gina Carano until Haywire came about, so I didn’t notice anything wrong with the trailer until I saw on TMZ that Carano’s part—her ENTIRE part—was dubbed over in the final cut of the movie. Annie in 2D
I know you’ll want to fight me when I say that I love what she’s wearing here, seen yesterday leaving lunch in Hollywood. It’s certainly not something that would appeal to my husband. Not at all. But then again, you know my thoughts on dressing for men vs dressing for women. To me, it’s a greater compliment when it’s coming from a girl. Full Story
