Carpets & Candids: Malin Akerman’s unflattering dress

I can see why this dress might seem like a good idea. But on Malin Akerman, who I love, I think it’s a mistake. So unflattering. Look how the material is bunching up everywhere, how the sateen is catching the light and making it worse. I don’t like how they styled her hair either. What is the point of a $1,000 dress when it looks like it was picked up for $150 at, like, Bebe or something? Full Article

Carpets & Candids: Taylor Schilling’s shoes

Taylor Schilling is wearing a great dress. But I can’t understand what’s happening with her shoes. As previously mentioned, I have really buggy eyes, so it might just be me, but is all that white sh-t supposed to be part of the actual design? Or are those weird insoles to make them fit better? They do look big, right? If that white business is on purpose, it’s a really bizarre piss poor job. Full Article

Carpets & Candids: Katie Holmes’s flared coral jeans

Coral jeans are everywhere. I’ve never been a fan of coral; it reminds me of an old neighbour we used to have – her entire apartment was painted that colour and furniture accented to match. Still, coral jeans seem to be the season’s denim. Katie Holmes’s coral jeans are flared. Turning them coral doesn’t make them any more flattering. Full Article

It’s probably too casual for the event, a gala, that took place last night at the Beverly Hilton. A lot of other people were pretty tricked out. Sheryl Crow looks like she just came off the beach, right? But... I kinda love that she looks so great just coming off the beach. I mean, it’s not like you can say she looks like sh-t, right? OK fine, this is totally not fancy enough for a fancy dress party. Full Article

Miley Cyrus is very dedicated to her pilates. She goes every day; she’s papped every day. She wears something different every day to keep it fresh. You know what they say though, right? If you really want to kill their interest, you don’t change up the clothes. Buy 5 pairs of the same shorts, t-shirt, whatever, and that way the photos never change. Full Article

Carpets & Candids: Helena’s puke green bag

I suppose she was trying to bring out some of the colour in her skirt, or to brighten it all up, but the puke green is a terrible choice and worse still, it’s a really cheap looking one, a shade that requires caution because when applied improperly, the effect can be super low budget. Look at her. Does she look like a supermodel here with that designer knock-off market purse over her shoulder? Full Article

Carpets & Candids: Oh no, Noomi

I think I understand the idea behind the all whiteness of her outfit. Like in an alternate universe, the way it looked in her mind (or her stylist’s mind) was way cooler than how it ended up. But this is how it ended up: white from head to toe without any shape and worse still, standing next to the impossible Charlize Theron who, I dunno, looks almost embarrassed to be extra tall and lithe beside Noomi’s white and blobby. Full Article
