A silver dress. And gold shoes. I’m not against it in principle. But the style of the shoe here isn’t working for me. And the whole look is kinda all over the place with the jacket that’s too long on top of the dress and the shoes with wrapping crossed over the foot… Messy, non? Full Article

This is such a pretty, pretty dress. The flutter at the shoulder is gorgeous. As for these shoes… On her they’re maybe not as offensive as they would be on someone else. But still. Still I hate them. At this point, how do you class up an extreme platform?  You can’t. It’s varying degrees of tacky, depending on the wearer, but tacky nonetheless. Full Article

When you’re Kate Hudson, and you wear a high neck ankle length dress, you look for any opportunity to show skin. That means making sure the lace bottom cuts way high up the back, so as to tease the ass as much as possible. I don’t see the point. If you’re going to do this, why not just rip off the lace completely and go for it? Full Article

I like the idea of this for sure. But in order to make room for all of those strips, without having the dress weigh 50 pounds, those pieces have to be cut really thin. And when they’re cut that thin, the way they’re bunching, it kinda looks cheap, right? And tacky? Look at the way it’s rippling right around her underwear band. Full Article

I liked it more when I didn’t know that the “bare” part from underneath her breasts to the waist was black sheer. The black sheer though… Look at it from the side, where you can see the seam. Kinda tacky, non? I don’t understand why Kate Hudson isn’t wearing it. Full Article

Carpets & Candids: Dakota’s dripping gold

The problem with so much of this gold material is that it looks messy with the wrinkles and how the light bounces off of it in so many ways, highlighting all the folds and creases. Does it seem to you that there’s always an unfinished quality to Dakota’s styling? I feel like it has to do with her hair. Full Article

It’s puke green. Which is not necessarily a problem if it’s done well but it becomes even more glaringly puke green when…well… This was probably the worst dress of the night for me. Worst is always in relation to the subject’s potential to be best. And Julianne Moore is always coming to an award show with a lot of promise. Full Article
