Check out Eddie Redmayne and Felicity Jones at the premiere of The Theory Of Everything in London last night, an early celebration for their double SAG nominations this morning. Triple, actually, because the film was also nominated for Best Ensemble. Have you seen it? SEE IT. I love this movie. It was my favourite at TIFF. Full Story

Oh but the timing of this… She timed it, obviously, with the upcoming release of Unbroken. This is PEOPLE’s year in review Best of 2014 issue. They’re hoping it’s big numbers in circulation. Perhaps the last issue of the magazine that people will pick up before the holiday break. Full Story

We’ve been speculating for weeks about that fifth Best Actor spot, assuming that Michael Keaton, Benedict Cumberbatch, Eddie Redmayne, and Steve Carell would be in for four. And we’ve seen Jake Gyllenhaal surging. Well, he’s almost there. The Screen Actors have sent him an invitation. Full Story

Did Jennifer Aniston stay up late last night, reading and re-reading every email leaked in the Sony hack, especially the parts where Scott Rudin sh-ts on Angelina Jolie? Did it get even better when she woke up this morning – or maybe she didn’t sleep at all – to learn that…holy sh-t, she’s been nominated for a SAG? She did it. Full Story

Dear Gossips,

The Boston Society of Film Critics and the LA Film Critics Association both named Boyhood the best film of 2014 yesterday. So Boyhood and director Richard Linklater are well on their way to Oscar nominations. But, as Ritchie wrote in his email to me last night, it remains to be seen whether Boyhood ends up being The Hurt Locker or The Social Network.  Read Full Intro

The Golden Globe nominations are just three days away. And Jennifer Aniston is up against some very serious contenders in the Best Dramatic Actress category. As we’ve seen, she’s been hustling hard for award recognition. On Friday, she showed up at another Cake screening, this time at the Chateau Marmont, and Selena Gomez was there. Full Story

You ever watch Oz? JK Simmons played Vern Schillinger. It took me a long time not to see him as Vern anymore. And I don’t. Now I don’t. Now I either see him as Juno’s dad or Miles Teller’s mentor adversary in Whiplash. For which he will probably, most likely, win an Oscar. The New York Film Critics Circle just named him Best Supporting Actor today. Full Story

Angelina Jolie and her cast were in LA yesterday to screen Unbroken at the Writers Guild of America. There were influential Oscar voters in the audience. And press. And now that the embargo has been lifted, we finally have a better idea of whether or not Unbroken can get to the Oscars. They’ve been calling for it to go to the Oscars before she’d even finished shooting the film. Full Story

Benedict Cumberbatch and fiancée Sophie Hunter (in Erdem) attended the London Evening Standard Theatre Awards together last night. Of course he’d be there. Because even though he’s been hustling his balls off for an Oscar, that voice was meant for the stage, don’t you know? And he’s to be Hamlet soon. Full Story

Jake Gyllenhaal’s interview on Letterman aired last night. He’s adorable. The entire time he’s adorable. So I’ve posted the full clip for you at the bottom of this post and, since it’s a slow day, I recommend watching all of it. Jake and Dave have great chemistry. Full Story

In addition to Benedict Cumberbatch, Reese Witherspoon was also one of the surprise names left off the list of Independent Spirit Award nominees. Reese is considered to be in the second position, after Julianne Moore, for Best Actress Oscar nominee for her performance in Wild. And if we’re working on the McConaissance plan (his agent, Jim Toth, is her husband), ideally she’d be at the Spirits the night before Oscar Sunday. Full Story
