Mad Max: Fury Road is the film that keeps showing up on all the “best” lists from critics to guilds to industry associations. Most experts seem to agree that Mad Max will be nominated for Oscar Best Picture, but they’re not taking any chances. Full Story

Imagine if it was the other PGA I was referring to? No, no, the people who run the golf organisation don’t have anything to do with Compton. But the Producers Guild of America has included Straight Outta Compton among the list of 10 films contending for Outstanding Motion Picture three days before the Oscar Academy’s nomination deadline. Full Story

Kristen Stewart collected her Best Supporting Actress award from the New York Film Critics Circle yesterday for her performance in Clouds Of Sils Maria. Her friend and co-star Julianne Moore presented to her. On stage, Kristen kept her remarks short, but cheeky: “I’ve received a lot of MTV Popcorns and stuff like that. Full Story

Oscar nominations are due this Friday, so there’s a lot of activity all over the place as everyone makes their last-minute pitch to get their named called on January 14, when the nominations are announced. To that end, Samuel L. Jackson and Walton Goggins were in New York last night, at the New York Film Critics Circle Awards, accepting a special award for The Hateful Eight composer Ennio Morricone. Full Story

Before the New Year, most Oscar prediction experts were in agreement that it would be Leonardo DiCaprio winning Best Actor. He will most likely win Best Actor in a Motion Picture Drama at the Golden Globes on Sunday, because those dicksuckers at the Hollywood Foreign Press Association love him. But they don’t get a say at the Oscars. Full Story

The Hollywood Reporter has released their directors roundtable, which includes Tom Hooper, Danny Boyle, David O. Russell, Ridley Scott, Alejandro González Iñárritu, and Quentin Tarantino. That’s quite a mix of people, several of whom have reputations for being, let’s call it “exacting” in their process. Full Story

Dear Gossips,

I’m buzzy today. It’s a combination of Christmas and award season excitement. The SAG nominations came down yesterday. The Golden Globe nominations just happened this morning. The Globes are just a month away.  Read Full Intro

This is what I mean when I say I’m torn. Because I love Idris. But this won’t be Idris’s only opportunity, only award season. For Sylvester Stallone as Rocky, well, it’s not going to happen again.
