It’s President’s Day in the United States so a lot of people have the day off. Where I live, it’s Family Day, a provincial holiday, so I don’t have the day off because our show services the entire country. I don’t actually have another day off until March 5th, including weekends, because I’m at a junket this weekend, and then it’s the Oscars the weekend after. Full Story

Alicia Vikander and Michael Fassbender were out together on Saturday night before the BAFTAs. Here they are leaving the party at 2am. They were also seated together during the BAFTAs proper, as they were both nominated. But they did not walk the carpet together. Michael walked with Kate Winslet, his co-star in Steve Jobs, while Alicia posed alone. Full Story

John Boyega won the BAFTA Rising Star Award last night. And he was dressed for it, looking sharp in a black velvet suit. I love his reaction when he got up to collect his trophy – a wide open-mouthed WHOA! as he was buttoning up his jacket. Understandable, non? He was in Star Wars. He was in the biggest movie of all time. Full Story

Last night at the BAFTAs – Leonardo DiCaprio was named Best Actor, Alejandro G Inarritu took Best Director, and The Revenant won Best Picture. So, just in case you’ve been missing the last several weeks, there is no way Leo’s losing the Oscar. Maybe not even if he marries a 14 year old. Full Story
