Dear Gossips,

Box office experts are predicting that The Fault In Our Stars will be #1 this weekend, ahead of Tom Cruise’s Edge Of Tomorrow. People really loved that book. As previously noted, I did not love that book. I mean it was OK, it didn’t suck.  Read Full Intro

Dear Gossips,

There was a tie at the Spelling Bee! God I love the Spelling Bee. If there’s anything that makes me hate people a little less, it’s the Spelling Bee. It’s these two kids going home every single day after school and studying the dictionary.  Read Full Intro

Dear Gossips,

Yes Please.

That’s the title of Amy Poehler’s book to be released in October. And yesterday on The Today Show, they released the cover. You like it? It’s so…neon 80s. It’s a memoir with a tweak. It will be illustrated. It might be like a diary. It will address friendship, love, parenting, and more.

It WILL be funny.

There is no doubt.

And you’ll buy one for yourself and another for your best friend?

Message to all my friends: this is what I’m getting you for Halloween.

Yours in gossip,

Lainey

Reese Witherspoon is currently shooting a movie with Sofia Vergara called Don’t Mess With Texas in Louisiana. She plays a cop, obviously, and Sofia is a felon, and they’re runnin’ from the law, from the law, I say, from the law! This won’t be the movie that takes Reese back to the Oscars. Full Story

Dear Gossips,

There was a moment last during my Q&A with Rainbow Rowell when Duana and I looked at each other and almost cried. An audience member asked Rainbow about the ending of Eleanor & Park and whether or not she’d always intended it to be that way.  Read Full Intro

Dear Gossips,

What do you want to talk about today? Want to talk about how I wish I had a dire wolf and would give up all gifts for the rest of my life in exchange for one? Probably not. Or how about Selena Gomez and...Orlando Bloom? Not that either.  Read Full Intro

I am an only child. My parents divorced when I was six years old. I wasn’t an outgoing person. I didn’t have a lot in common with the other kids at school, often being the only Chinese student in a classroom full of people whose parents also grew up in Canada or in other parts of the world where English is the first language. Full Story

Dear Gossips,

I’m reading a book right now called Remember The Time: Protecting Michael Jackson In His Final Days by Bill Whitfield, Javon Beard, and Tanner Colby. Whitfield and Beard were MJ’s bodyguards at the end. They were with him always.  Read Full Intro

Rob Lowe is promoting a new book called Love Life. I can imagine. What are the stories that aren’t fit to print? Anyway, while promoting the book a few days ago, Rob talked about how his looks may have gotten in the way of his career. Like Mrs Timberlake and others before him, his beauty was, apparently, a burden. Full Story

Dear Gossips,

Laini Taylor’s Dreams Of Gods & Monsters was released today. I downloaded it to my iPad as soon as my alarm went off this morning and now it’s just sitting there, next to me on the desk, taunting, tempting: Blow off the whole day and read me, read me, read me.  Read Full Intro

Dear Holly Bario, you smart executive who wisely gave the greenlight to Eleanor & Park… Sometimes I get mad at the concept of word of mouth.  It seems like such an egalitarian but inefficient system.  Like, why do I have to wait that long to find things out that might be awesome, that might have been improving my life all this time? This is how I feel about Rainbow Rowell’s books, and Eleanor & Park in particular. Full Story
