If you have social media, you’ve used it to show off. Come on. How do you resist the temptation? Are you on holiday somewhere awesome? Are you posing on the beach? Are you at that concert that everyone wants to go to? Did you get into a super exclusive party? While out for dinner, did you run into a celebrity and boast about it to all your followers? For celebrities on Saturday night, being at The Fight was the grand magnum of showing off. Full Story
The Tony Award nominations were announced yesterday by Bruce Willis and Mary Louise Parker. It was a RED reunion. They shut out Harvey Weinstein’s Finding Neverland. Some of the big name celebrities who were called include Bradley Cooper (The Elephant Man), Carey Mulligan and Bill Nighy (Skylight), and Ruth Wilson for her work in Constellations. But not Jake Gyllenhaal in Constellations. There are only so many spots, I guess.
But it kinda reminds me of (movie) award season. When Bradley wasn’t a factor…until it mattered. And Jake was nominated at several of the pre-game shows but not at the main event. In my worthless opinion, his work in Nightcrawler deserved to be there. Then again, American Sniper was not my jam. Read Full Intro

Can we start with Cristiano Ronaldo? Because I am not a believer. Like I can’t actually see it. I don’t want to see it. Apparently this means I’m crazy, as he’s known around the world as maybe the most beautiful man ever. He and Irina Shayk were together for a long time. They broke up earlier this year. Full Story

Emma Watson just turned 25 last week. She was in New York last night at the TIME 100 event celebrating the list of most influential people, an acknowledgment of her work with the United Nations, crusading for gender equality. I mean it was almost too much to hope for, you know? That she would play Hermione and then grow up and not only not disappoint but also be so… Hermione. Full Story

Sienna Miller’s name was on the list of 2015 jury members at the Cannes Film Festival released yesterday, one of the reasons why people were calling it the prettiest jury ever. Sienna is, obviously, very pretty. But inviting her to be part of the judging panel was not just motivated by her looks, especially not when you consider the year she’s just had, appearing in both Foxcatcher and American Sniper and following that up with a run on Broadway in Cabaret. “This…. is quite a headshot.” That’s the title of the email I sent to Lainey this morning, after seeing Bradley Cooper on the cover of TIME’s 100 Most Influential People list. Just take a look at the photo. Is he worthy? Sure. Coops has four Oscar nominations to his name from the past three years… and he's likely to earn a Tony nomination for his terrific work in The Elephant Man too. Full Story

Clint Eastwood, Bradley Cooper, and Suki Waterhouse were all at Coachella this weekend. I guess Clint is really into AC/DC. Or maybe there was a secret meeting with Beyonce for A Star Is Born. That’s going to be my theory. Anyway, as you can see, Coop and Suki seemed close. Apparently they were together in Venice on Thursday, then she went back to his place, before they both headed to Palm Springs for the festival, behaving like they’re totally back together, as Leonardo DiCaprio stands off the to the side, shaking his head in disappointment. Bradley Cooper is working with Jennifer Lawrence and David O Russell in Boston on Joy. As you know, he and Suki Waterhouse broke up. What? Girls aren’t on his mind right now, OK? He’s focusing on his career. And he’ll be a director soon. So there’s no time for relationships. Full Story
Deadline reported exclusively yesterday that Warner Bros and Bradley Cooper are working on a deal for him to direct the third (or is it fourth?) remake of A Star Is Born. Warner Bros has a short list of favourite actors: Leonardo DiCaprio, Ryan Gosling, Tom Hardy, Ben Affleck. Right now, off the success of American Sniper, Cooper’s looking a lot like an Affleck contemporary. He’s arguably a better actor. And Clint Eastwood loves him. Eastwood was supposed to take on A Star Is Born. Obviously Cooper has his blessing.
In addition to directing though, if negotiations don’t fall through, Cooper would work on the screenplay and star in the film as well. Read Full Intro

The question, when watching Serena, is “Where did this go wrong?” Shot in 2012, it re-teamed proven screen couple Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence for an adaptation of Ron Rash’s novel directed by Susanne Bier, an award-winning Danish filmmaker. There’s a lot of talent on both sides of the camera in Serena, so why did it sit on the shelves for three years before getting a hasty, barely-there release? Answer: “Because it’s a mess featuring bad performances. Full Story
