What a f*cking weird movie. I love it, I can’t guarantee you will all love it, too, but if you’re open to trying a different flavor, The Lobster is definitely worth a shot. The first English-language feature from Greek filmmaker Yorgos Lanthimos (Dogtooth), and co-written with his regular collaborator Efthymis Filippou, The Lobster is very funny, occasionally brutal, and completely bizarre. Full Story

Colin Farrell’s SUPER WEIRD Lobster

Sarah Posted by Sarah at September 3, 2015 18:56:50 September 3, 2015 18:56:50

Colin Farrell has a film screening at TIFF called The Lobster. The Lobster is from Greek filmmaker Yorgos Lanthimos, who also made the deeply creepy Dogtooth. Colin Farrell is pants-wettingly hot, but in The Lobster he’s playing an awkward man with a bad mustache, and he looks pretty convincing at it. Full Story

Dear Gossips,

Now that Game Of Thrones has wrapped, HBO is moving us right into True Detective season 2, premiering on Sunday in Canada and the US. I wasn’t into the first season. The partnership between Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson didn’t interest me, wasn’t new for me.  Read Full Intro

Colin Farrell and Ewan McGregor worked together on a Woody Allen film called Cassandra’s Dream a few years ago. Here they are arriving in Nice for the Cannes Film Festival today and they happen to be travelling in the same outfit, just coincidence no conspiracy. Ewan knows Cannes. He was a jury member in 2012. Full Story

Rachel McAdams in True Detective Season 2 – the first trailer

Lainey Posted by Lainey at April 9, 2015 20:30:51 April 9, 2015 20:30:51

I felt about the first season of True Detective the way I feel about Iggy Azalea: didn’t care. In fact, the only time I cared was when Cary Fukunaga won the Emmy. Duana and I have been yelled at a lot about this. And we get it. You loved the show. But for us, there was no draw. Sorry. Can we make up now though? Because I am interested in Season 2. Full Story

Rachel McAdams, Colin Farrell, and Taylor Kitsch were photographed in LA shooting True Detective season 2 yesterday. It seems like they were shooting some kind of armed standoff. As you know, all three of them play police officers. I like Rachel in cop mode. My Photo Assumption is that all three are comfortable, relaxed with each other, totally friendly. Full Story

Marvel is still looking for Dr Strange because it definitely won’t be Joaquin Phoenix. His publicist released a statement the other day confirming that negotiations are “dead, dead, dead. A couple of weeks ago they mutually decided to part ways. It was over before the New York Film Festival”. Full Story

The Chicago International Film Festival kicked off last night, and over the next couple weeks I’ll be reviewing some festival season stragglers, beginning with the opening night film, Miss Julie, which blew chunks. But first we need to talk about Colin Farrell, who was on hand along with writer/director Liv Ullmann to introduce the film. Full Story
