Dear Gossips,

I thought I was dreaming partway through the Critics’ Choice Awards last night because…there on stage… two Asians were presenting together. It was Constance Wu and Randall Park from Fresh Off The Boat.  Read Full Intro

Industrial Light & Magic was presented with the Genius Award at Critics’ Choice last night. I’ve been to ILM in San Francisco. It’s an amazing facility. Yoda’s all over the place there, as he should be. And if he’d come out on stage to share the spotlight with ILM, fine, he deserves the moment. Full Story

Orlando Bloom presented at the Critics’ Choice Awards last night. He also presented at the Globes last weekend. It’s been a long time since we cared about Orlando Bloom for the work of Orlando Bloom, hasn’t it? Orlando Bloom shows up here when he slaps at Justin Bieber. Or when he may or may not be hooking up with Selena Gomez. Full Story

Fargo got shut out at the Golden Globes, but it got some love from the wholly irrelevant Critics’ Choice Awards, where it won four awards, including Best TV Movie/Limited Series, and Best Actress in a TV Movie/Limited Series, for Kirsten Dunst. I’m not even a Kirsten Dunst fan, and I thought she was pretty goddamned brilliant on Fargo. Full Story

Christian Bale called it a “make out” last night during the Critics’ Choice Awards when he was named Best Actor in a Comedy and kissed Adam McKay and other producers at the table on the mouth before getting up on stage to collect his trophy. He also looked great in all black. There was another Christian Bale headline that was making news this weekend though. Full Story

As of 9:52am this morning Lainey had not yet transcribed our text conversation last night where, after Rami Malek and Mr. Robot won Critics' Choice Awards, joining the one Christian Slater got earlier in the evening, she sent me a series of increasingly pointed ‘ahem!’ s. This is because during the holidays I told her to prioritize Jessica Jones over Mr. Full Story

I have a question and you’re going to yell at me for it: Is there some Amy Schumer fatigue happening? I mean it’s not like she didn’t allude to it herself, on stage. Because she did. She was like, yeah, you’re probably sick of listening to me now. To be clear, I’m not sick of Amy Schumer. Full Story

It’s done. Leonardo DiCaprio will win his first Oscar for being cold and snotty in The Revenant. By now his lead is pretty much insurmountable and, as Sarah noted a couple of weeks ago, the voters probably just want to get it over with so he stops trying to kill himself Full Story

Watchers of award shows know that Aziz Ansari comes prepared to lose. And while he did lose Best Actor In A Comedy Series to Jeffrey Tambor, he did not lose the top prize, Best Comedy Series. Master of None won, which is, I think, the first time they’ve won on TV. Full Story

Rachel McAdams was the only Spotlight cast member present at the Critics’ Choice Awards last night and spoke on behalf of the cast when it was named Best Acting Ensemble. “Our cast” is what she said, which is the way it should be said. Once again, just as it was at the Golden Globes, Rachel was joined at the event by Sacha Pfeiffer. Full Story

During the holidays Lainey started texting me, stressed out, because she was watching Jessica Jones, which is a very stressful show. One of the best things about Jessica Jones—THE best thing—is Krysten Ritter, who gave one of 2015’s best leading actress performances on television as Jessica. Full Story
