Demi Moore, pontificator
Excellent candidate for Seth Meyers on Saturday Night Live to get “Really!?!” on her tight ass. Because Demi Moore is becoming insufferable.
As you know, Demi is all over Twitter. Trying to stay relevant or, as she would explain, using the platform to inform and educate and promote awareness. She’s apparently a sociolinguistics expert now and last night she took issue with one of the Kardashian people for using the expression “big pimpin’”. The Kardashian had tweeted a photo of herself on a girls’ night out with the caption: big pimpin’ with Serena Williams and LaLa Vasquez.
This prompted @MrsKutcher to climp up on her pulpit and start blowharding, admonishing the Kardashian for glorifying slavery and pimp culture. Demi’s texts are below:
No disrespect I love a girls night out but a pimp and pimping is nothing more than a slave owner!
if we want to end slavery we need to stop glorifying the "pimp" culture
we have allowed it 2 B considered cool, but it still is what its!
I was just making a point about how we have used a word and desensitized the real meaning .
Clearly I stirred up a s**t storm, but 2 create change U have 2 be willing 2 take a risk and be willing 2 provoke thought & conversation
OK grandma, are you finished now?
First of all, why is Demi Moore acknowledging the existence of a Kardashian? THIS is most offensive. Second, she and Ashton are, like, best friends with Puffy Diddy Combs and his bullsh-t Ciroc vodka. Who’s glorifying pimp culture now? And third, if we’re really all about advancing change, why is her husband making movies that only serve to illustrate the one dimensional “love-first” female stereotype that grounds women in convention and conformity? Valentine’s Day, the movie, is so much more insidiously damaging than some twat who goes out to party with a few girlfriends.
But charge Demi with hypocrisy and she’ll sanctimoniously conjure up another weak ass celebrity defence, so easy to say when “thought provoking and conversation” doesn’t actually happen in a live setting. The problem with these people is that they are never directly challenged. Their fame allows them to be protected from any criticism that would illustrate the infirmity of their arguments. And so they keep spewing their nonsensical musings, in her case to an audience of over 2 million. Great.
