Rosie vs. Donald. Donald says Barbara hates Rosie. Now it’s Rosie vs. Barbara.
As reported by Page Six, Ro apparently threw down yesterday behind the scenes at The View, on her first day back she tore a strip off Barbara’s pruned ass – and rightly so – for not mounting a staunch defence during her holiday absence, feeling betrayed that Barbara failed to call out Trump for lying about regretting her decision to bring Rosie on the show:
"You kept me in the newspapers this whole time! You didn"t call me for 10 goddamn days, and you didn"t tell me what you were going to say on television! Cameras are now outside of my house where my wife and kids are. You went all around this and never called [Trump] a liar. You never said, "Donald is lying." You never called him a liar."
Naturally, Barbara tried to defend herself:
"I did everything I could to squash the story.”
Not good enough for Ro:
"Are you looking me in the face and denying you didn"t tell him you didn"t say this? You"re a f-cking liar."
As for those of you who might be sceptical about whether or not this actually went down – note that Rosie’s publicist is not disputing the incident, preferring instead to downplay the fireworks.
In other words – every detail is true!
And while I’m not sure about the wisdom of losing her sh-t so publicly – only because it gives HIM the satisfaction – I gotta tell you, I’m with Rosie on this one, mostly because I can’t stand the insincerity of Barbara Walters.
You start this show, this show that is supposed to bring together different women, to give different women a voice, to empower women, to encourage discussion, to illustrate on tv what Chick Dish is all about, what it means to be a girl, how Girl Code prevails beyond disagreement, and above all.
And then your girl is attacked. She is attacked because she dared to point out the absurdity of a man who profits from objectifying women, who creates opportunities for corrupting women, and then hypocritically bestows his benevolence on the pretty lamb that strayed.
Hey, where I come from that’s grounds for full on war, full on estrogen mobilisation. THAT is Girl Code. If I had done the same, my girls would have my back. And it wouldn’t take the form of some half ass, lame ass statement of support. There would open indignation, there would be bra burning, there would be finger snapping, a whole lotta hip action and attitude – girls might be catty and girls might be mean, but when girls stand up for each other, you don’t forget it.
And the problem with Barbara is that she simply didn’t stand up for her girl. Worse yet, she didn’t stand up for her girl because she didn’t want to alienate a rich influential pompous prick for fear of losing out on her annual Christmas party invitation.
If you ask me, that’s the worst kind of Girl.
If you ask me, Barbara Walters is the worst kind of Girl Friend.
If you ask me, Rosie O’Donnell should leave Barbara’s old ass high and dry after next season…let her hire someone bland, with no opinions, and see how her ratings go the way of the new season of Apprentice.
As Trump would say – it would be a Total Disaster.
