Emma, Andrew, Spider-Man, and Australia
The final Spider-Man 2 trailer has just been released and they saved the best preview for last. It’s GOOD. Dane DeHaan is SO good. Those eyes! His face! It’s gaunt, it’s troubled, he’s creepy, but also kinda… hot. Please James Franco, can you review this movie?
In the Tobey Maguire version of Spider-Man, the second film was the best. I wonder if it’ll be the same this time too. But…I worry about Gwen. I worry about Emma Stone. CLICK AWAY if you don’t want to be spoiled, although Emma herself has alluded to the fact that if Gwen was still around, why would there be a need for Mary Jane? Speaking of Mary Jane…
Shailene Woodley, who was cast as Mary Jane, was asked recently, straight up, “are you part of the Spider-Man franchise?”
Her response, just as straight up: NO.
So then I went to my comic book guru Sarah from Cinesnark about whether or not that means they don’t plan to do with Gwen what is supposed to happen to Gwen. And she told me straight up that what’s going to happen to Gwen has to happen to Gwen because it’s pretty central to the Spider-Man foundation.
If that’s the case, Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield are perhaps enjoying their final press tour together as Gwen Stacy and Peter Parker. They’re currently in Australia. And while their work commitments don’t begin until later this, they decided to go a few days early to acclimate to the time difference but also to spend some time together sightseeing and being adorable (for us). Here they are with a fan at a coffee shop:
