February 25, 2016 – Smutty Shout-Outs
Many, many thanks for your support of Guts + Glory and to those of you who contributed to our team’s fundraising total. The event raised $370,000 for Covenant House Toronto. Our team came in last but, we’d like to think we were the most diverse – three men, three women, all kinds of representation. And, of course, most importantly, we were there for the youth, some of whom were there last night, as competitors and as volunteers in the life skills programs offered by Covenant House to help homeless and at-risk youth rebuild their lives. I am sore as f-ck. At one point I think I’m pretty sure I tasted blood at the back of my throat because those challenges were so hard. Also, I couldn’t climb the rope:
In the end though, none of that matters. As participants in the first annual Guts + Glory, we were there to, hopefully, set a precedent and to encourage the young people who access Covenant House services that they are important and that they are worth it. For Miguel, aka the “Mexican Mark Ruffalo” from Pamela – wishing you well today and a quick recovery. And thank you for accepting my part in her life and, therefore, in both of yours. As for your question, Pamela – yes, he is SO cute!
