The first trailer for Rogue One, the first “Star Wars Story” spin-off of the rebooted universe, is here and it’s pretty f*cking metal. From the piano breakdown of the Star Wars’ theme to the shots of the Death Star, Stormtroopers, AT-ATs, and those familiar orange flight suits, there’s plenty of recognizable Star Wars stuff to push the nostalgia button everyone is so hooked on these days. Full Story

Southpaw may look like a rental, but you should see it in theatres. Yes, it relies way too heavily on clichés, but seeing Jake Gyllenhaal transform into Billy Hope is worth the price of admission. It’s joy to see Rachel McAdams in this sexy, supportive part, too. But this is a role only Jake could play. Full Story

The first trailer for Jake Gyllenhaal’s boxing movie Southpaw—the one he got insanely ripped for—just premiered on Eminem’s Youtube channel, of all the weird places. Once upon a time, Eminem was attached to the project, but his involvement now is limited to a song on the soundtrack and, apparently, debuting the trailer. Full Story

It’s worth watching the video, or just reading the transcript. (Also, is Matthew McConaughey’s head really weird in this photo?) It’s immediately worth it to me because they’ve included Michael B Jordan. YES. It’s been a great year for Jordan so far as a result of his excellent work in Fruitvale. Full Story

A star-studded carpet last night in New York. Oscar winners Tom Hanks, Forest Whitaker showed up to support alongside the film’s stars Catherine Keener and Catherine O’Hara (love her so much), and young Max Records with Spike Jonze and Maurice Sendak. And oh yeah, Blake Lively too. Where The Wild Things Are marks the third time Jonze has directed a feature film. Full Story
