Game of Thrones Articles
The MTV Movie Awards are on Sunday.
Um. Game Of Thrones premieres on Sunday on both HBO and HBO Canada. FINALLY.
FINALLY! You wait 10 months to watch for only 10 weeks.
So this isn’t a conversation. Watch GOT and Mad Men first. And then hit the internet or Twitter the next morning to catch up on the Movie Awards. That’s the game plan. Because there is nothing that will happen at MTV that you can’t watch on PVR later. You don’t have to see Shailene Woodley accept her Trailblazer Award live. But you DO want to see those dragons as soon as possible.
Have a great weekend!

So I’m taking over recapping duties for Games of Thrones this season as Duana is focusing on Mad Men’s final season. I came a little late to the Thrones party but my positions are the following: I don’t have a favorite house because I’m convinced everyone is going to die; Jon Snow is The Worst; I’m here for the Tyrion and Varys Travelling Road Show; I want to be Brienne of Tarth when I grow up; Arya Stark is my spirit animal; direwolves make the best pets; R + L = J; SANSA FINALLY; f*ck the Lannisters, except for Tyrion, he’s cool; The North remembers; I wish the Khaleesi would DO SOMETHING but I appreciate that she is learning about governance from the ground up; I haven’t read the books but it doesn’t matter because this is a TV show and it should work on its own; I have read the Wiki Full Story
A new Game Of Thrones trailer was released this week ahead of the season 5 premiere in April. The star of the preview: Dragons. BIG DRAGONS. Those teenagers are, like, fully challenging adulthood now. Do dragons have sex? I just googled this question and spent more time than I ever imagined I would reading about dragon porn. Full Story
Game Of Thrones. A trailer. Set to David Bowie. Well, not him, exactly, but that’s who I associate with the song. And what do we have here? Margaery is getting married. Again. How many f-cking times is she going to marry a guy who ends up dying right after he marries her? Black Widow! Tyrion appears to be on his way to finding the Khaleesi which…good. Full Story

Gwendoline Christie, though you probably know her as Brienne of Tarth, was named British Actress of the Year last night by Harper's Bazaar. Jaime would be so proud of her. No, really he would. I think? Or does he keep f-cking his sister? Don't tell me! It has indeed been a career year for Gwendoline. Full Story

As expected, the Game Of Thrones panel at Comic-Con this weekend was a big deal. And it was a chance to say goodbye to a couple of our favourite characters. Also a look-ahead to Season 5. So here are Gidget and Oberyn Martell alongside Jon Snow and Arya Stark and the Hound and Brienne of Tarth and Jaime Lannister who, for me at least, is quickly becoming the Pacey Witter of this show. It’s right there! Right there! Sit on it! She didn’t. And maybe that’s a smart move. Because nothing good, so far, has come from anyone sitting on the Iron Throne. Her Majesty visited the set of Game Of Thrones today in Belfast. Certain members from the cast were there too. Full Story

Lena Headey was on Kimmel last night and he asked her to drink wine like Cersei Lannister and talk to him in character. F-ck I just like hearing her talk. I like watching her just be… Cersei who, as Duana says, might be the best character on the show. There is always great tension in Cersei’s scenes. Full Story
I thought it was foreplay. You know, Brienne of Tarth and the Hound. Because Game Of Thrones has turned me into a sicker f-ck than I already was.
But just because it’s worth waiting for doesn’t make the waiting any less sh-tty. TEN MONTHS of waiting now. I will be a year older by the time we find out …
Well. There’s so much to find out. Like if the Khaleesi will ever actually DO anything. It was an exhilarating conclusion to season 4, yes. But it was also a waste of a season for her character. A total waste. Also, do I have to care about Stannis Baratheon? Because I don’t. I do care a lot about Cersei Lannister. Duana called her “the best character and almost the best actor” last night. Oh I know we’re supposed to hate Cersei but how can you hate a character who’s so delightfully complicated and who never disappoints dramatically?
By the way, I thought the Three Eyed Raven was Johnny Depp. Read Full Intro
Game Of Thrones Season 4 Episode 10 recap I complained about how much time was spent at Castle Black last week and I know I wasn’t wrong, but there’s conflict there, at least. The previouslies remind us that there are too many parts of this show that are just so much talking and not enough actual breath-holding terror and delight. Full Story
Got back from Banff last night and had to watch Game Of Thrones again from the comfort of my own bed. By the show’s episode 9 standards, I can’t say it was my favourite. But… I have a question I can’t stop thinking about. About my favourite character of the series…
Why didn’t Jon Snow take Ghost with him? My favourite scene this season has been when Jon and Ghost find each other again. The look on Kit Harington’s face when he says, “Come here!” almost made me cry. Like, if I had a direwolf, I would pick fights ALL THE TIME, especially with the King Beyond The Wall.
Check out Harington arriving in New York the other day with his hair pulled back. He keeps complaining that he’s not allowed to cut it. You know why he needs to stop it with that sh-t? Pompeii. Read Full Intro
