George on the campaign trail
He spent the summer at Como, hooked up with a saucy Italian brunette, and it’s now time to work – with 2 films scheduled for release this fall, both of them award potentials, especially Up In The Air which was secretly screened in Telluride a few days ago and the response was overwhelmingly positive.
So begins the hype.
They say Up In The Air will undoubtedly earn Clooney another nomination.
But it’s careful game of managing expectations. The season is long, the race can be unpredictable. After all, at this time last year, Frost/Nixon was supposed to win everything. So George has recruited some company along the way. At least at the beginning of the journey. After all, we’re still 7 months away. The Oscars this year have been pushed back to March to accommodate the Olympics. That’s a long time.
Will Elisabetta Canalis make it to March?
Well, at the very least, she made it to Venice.
George arrived yesterday to promote The Men Who Stare At Goats. Elisabetta, in high heels and a flattering little black dress, came along for the ride.
If he’s not bothering to hide her, he probably won’t leave her at home for the premiere either.
George and Elisabetta’s first carpet?
Am sure of it: this sexpot will do a better job than Sarah Larson. Look at her. She cannot wait. He picked a feisty one this time, non?
