Marion & Guillaume: horses & hats

Lainey Posted by Lainey at December 14, 2009 07:04:53 December 14, 2009 07:04:53

First Ryan Gosling, now Marion Cotillard and Guillaume Canet … the week is looking more and more fried ricey. Yesterday in Paris at the Grand Prix Masters Gucci Horse Exposition my Marion and her Guillaume were together but didn’t pose together, both in all black and hats. She’s gorgeous and adorable without much makeup, he’s so handsome and only getting better with age. Full Story

Giving back on her birthday

Oh Taylor Swift. Right now you are perfect. TSwizzle turned 20 yesterday and celebrated at her family home with family, friends, her band, and the crew, baking the night before to surprise her guests, and then, oh yeah, announcing she’d made a donation of $250K to educational programs around the country, helping support teacher salaries, and purchasing new textbooks. Full Story

Emma’s blowout

Lainey Posted by Lainey at December 11, 2009 08:51:40 December 11, 2009 08:51:40

It’s like she’s walking around with a wind machine today – this is Emma Thompson with fresh highlights and a great blowout in Spain presenting “Journey” an exhibition about sex trafficking. It’s our usual animated, amazing Emma. Love her so much. Emma can currently be seen in two films in theatres right now: Pirate Radio and An Education, two diverse roles, both brilliantly played. Full Story

Meryl + Tina

Lainey Posted by Lainey at December 10, 2009 11:25:00 December 10, 2009 11:25:00

Major fangirl crushing. Last night in New York at the premiere of Meryl’s latest It’s Complicated, Tina showed up to support her co-star Alec Baldwin, of course, but there’s no doubt a lot of respect for La Streep too. After all, aside from her obvious CAPABILITIES, Meryl Streep, now 60, has had a run of box office dominance that’s been remarkable, especially considering this is an industry that ordinarily favours and celebrates youth above all. Full Story

Wiig!

Lainey Posted by Lainey at December 1, 2009 14:39:50 December 1, 2009 14:39:50

She doesn’t get enough love. Today’s a good day for it. Kristen Wiig was at the Gotham Awards last night. Am all over what she’s wearing, it works for her. Also reminds me of my friend Duana who can wear red tights like no other bitch and also has long, long legs up to her neck. 2009 was a good year for Kristen. Full Story

Kate Winslet. Some celebrities, when they’ve been up in our faces for a while on promotion or whatever, promise they’ll go away quietly once their sh-t is over. And then they never leave. Kate Winslet said last year following promotion for Revolutionary Road and her Oscar run for The Reader that she had no plans to work and wanted to chill out, be with her kids, stay away from the spotlight for a while. Full Story

Sandy & The Blind Side

Lainey Posted by Lainey at November 17, 2009 13:27:00 November 17, 2009 13:27:00

I love football movies. Especially when they’re corny. But Laura laughed at me last week when I told her I wanted to see The Blind Side. You’re probably laughing at me for wanting to see The Blind Side. But Michael Oher’s story is irresistible. And while I can’t stand the Baltimore Ravens because I hate Ray Lewis, it’s nothing short of remarkable what Oher has accomplished. Full Story

Bad pants and loud screams

Lainey Posted by Lainey at November 16, 2009 08:21:27 November 16, 2009 08:21:27

Friday afternoon at MuchMusic – Laura and I were working late, unable to escape the building before MOD where New Moon stars Kellan Lutz and Bronson Pelletier were making an appearance. They’d been lining up all day, and the anticipation only increased over the hours, unleashing itself in the form of earsplitting screams that reverberated throughout the building. Full Story
