Now here’s a woman who hasn’t invited Ebola Hilton onto her show for a guest appearance. Tina Fey once called Ebola a “piece of sh-t”. Tina is everything to be admired and respected in a woman in entertainment. If Tina Fey publicly called that disease a piece of sh-t, it IS a piece of sh-t. Full Story

GGB & Amanda Seyfried

As an onscreen couple. I wrote the other day that I found it hard to imagine. Here are some photos to help with that – shooting Letters to Juliet in Soho today. There is something very endearing about the fact that I can see her panty line. I love that she’s not straddling a string in costume. Full Story

On your knees

For Cate Blanchett. And worship. Cate and her husband Andrew Upton attended an Audi event today in Sydney. She is, as usual, f-cking perfect. Love everything. Including the fact that she’s a working mother of 3, balancing a hot Hollywood career, codirecting a theatre company, and doesn’t martyr herself in every magazine article about being Superwoman. Full Story

Emily > Shelfy

Lainey Posted by Lainey at August 21, 2009 07:13:12 August 21, 2009 07:13:12

A rare Emily Blunt sighting at LAX yesterday – sexy and cute all at the same time. Am a big fan. Emily’s The Young Victoria which was released several months ago in the UK is finally opening in North America on November 13th. The Young Victoria will also close the Toronto International Film Festival with both Emily and co-star Rupert Friend confirmed to attend. Full Story

How to be 20

She still has a year to go but it’s hard to believe Kristen Stewart and Hayden Panettiere are only 12 months apart. One seems to be well into her 30s. The other is content at 19, embracing 19, dressing the way a 19 year old can – with imagination, with creativity, with originality… Kristen Stewart isn’t a fashion plate every day. Full Story

Meryl

Lainey Posted by Lainey at July 28, 2009 10:00:44 July 28, 2009 10:00:44

That f-cking Shelf Ass had the temerity to put herself in the same sentence with Meryl Streep in an interview. Meryl Streep is too classy to care. But to quote Valentino: I would eat them! Meryl was in LA last night with Amy Adams for the premiere of Julie & Julia in which she plays Julia Child, with the accent and the quirky mannerisms, a third summer in a row that she’s featured at the box office, and that’s Meryl Streep – just turned 60 and, as she’s said recently, suddenly a box office draw. Full Story

Start the week with Cate

Lainey Posted by Lainey at July 27, 2009 07:08:56 July 27, 2009 07:08:56

Gladly. This is Cate Blanchett with husband Andrew Upton arriving at the Sydney Opera House for the Helpmann 2009 Awards honouring the performing arts. Cate and Andrew are currently co-artistic directors of the Sydney Theatre Company and Cate was nominated, though did not win, for Best Actress. Love her so much. Full Story

Emma is the best

Lainey Posted by Lainey at July 22, 2009 08:36:27 July 22, 2009 08:36:27

Emma Thompson adopted an African son. It did not make headlines around the world. And he wasn’t a toddler at the time. His name is Tindy and he was welcomed into Emma’s family when he was 16, a Rwandan refugee newly arrived in England after fleeing the war torn country. They met at a Refugee Council event six years ago. Full Story

Rashida has great taste

Lainey Posted by Lainey at July 21, 2009 07:33:12 July 21, 2009 07:33:12

Michelle, Duana and I were moaning about Zadie Smith last year – so young, so brilliant, has taught at Harvard and Columbia, and will become a full professor at NYU in 2010. She’s only 33. Love her. Hate her! We felt even worse about ourselves after reading this article on Jon Favreau, President Obama’s chief speechwriter, then just 26 years old and featured in the New York Times. Full Story

Alanis in a groove

Lainey Posted by Lainey at July 20, 2009 07:05:47 July 20, 2009 07:05:47

These are high times for Alanis Morissette. It’s a weak line, but it works. As you know, Alanis is enjoying a 7 ep arc on Weeds (please say you watch Weeds, please say you watch Weeds and not the other bullsh-t) after wrapping a successful 2 year run with Flavours of Entanglement, is supposed to star in a film adapted from Radio Free Albemuth, is happy and healthy, is involved with a non celebrity, and looks better than she ever has. Full Story

An afternoon with the Potter kids

Lainey Posted by Lainey at July 13, 2009 06:53:00 July 13, 2009 06:53:00

Let’s start with Bonnie Wright. She’s tiny. Was wearing flats, as was I, and we’re the same height, only she’s thinner, though not unhealthy. Very still, small movements, extremely articulate, quite reserved. Funnily enough, it’s the Weasleys with the low energy, and Harry and Hermione who are much more animated. Full Story
