Sherlock Holmes and Rachel McAdams

Lainey Posted by Lainey at December 11, 2008 07:06:00 December 11, 2008 07:06:00

There she is – one of our first looks at Rachel McAdams on the set of Guy Ritchie’s Sherlock Holmes. Not exactly loving the hair but that’s how they wore it then, right? Also attaching photos of newly nominated Robert Downey Jr, capping off his remarkable comeback year with an appearance at the Globes in January and looking ahead of course to more as RDJ’s The Soloist is slated for release in 2009, said to be yet another tour de force. Full Story

Affordable Nicole Richie?

Lainey Posted by Lainey at December 10, 2008 16:10:59 December 10, 2008 16:10:59

Actually, yes. As far as accessories are concerned. Nicole has launched a jewellery line called House of Harlow 1960, obviously after baby daughter Harlow Winter. The pieces are being sold at ShopKitson.com and the prices are not backbreaking. In fact, there are earrings available for under $30. Cute earrings too. Full Story

A bell and a toga

Cate and Tilda. Tried desperately to find one of them together but gave up after 5 minutes. My heart would have exploded anyway. Love them both so much. Cate wore McQueen in a bell shape with some kind of extraneous nylon tube underneath which could have been disastrous on anyone else but… it’s Cate Blanchett. Full Story

Even though she wears the same thing…

Lainey Posted by Lainey at December 9, 2008 06:39:38 December 9, 2008 06:39:38

Over and over again, can’t get enough of Kristen Stewart. Am also all over this dress. Don’t care if it’s similar to every dress she’s worn so far on tour. Look at her “I’m so weird and awkward and I don’t want to be here” expression. She means it too. Full Story

Upgrading is good

Emily Blunt is free from that cheese dick Michael Buble. He told People that he’d always love her and that he’s happy she’s found a new man. As you know, she’s apparently now dating John Krasinski. Full Story

In character on the carpet

Lainey Posted by Lainey at December 8, 2008 09:32:18 December 8, 2008 09:32:18

Meryl Streep last night at the premiere of Doubt, still dressed in character perhaps as Sister Aloysius, said to be yet another slamdunk Oscar nominated performance. Have you seen or read Doubt? What makes me worship her even more is her defence of Sister Aloysius. And how far she’s willing to go artistically in that defence. Full Story

Twilight Tumult

Lainey Posted by Lainey at December 8, 2008 06:13:51 December 8, 2008 06:13:51

Trouble already at the House of Twilight. Catherine Hardwicke, director of Twilight and previously confirmed as the director of the sequel New Moon, has been fired. Summit Entertainment and Hardwicke made the announcement yesterday while Hardwicke is currently touring Europe with Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson to promote the dazzle, expected today in Paris. Full Story

Australia’s true Queen

Lainey Posted by Lainey at December 5, 2008 14:59:28 December 5, 2008 14:59:28

Am crushing so hard I can’t even speak. Cate Blanchett received her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame today and apparently this is not one of those cases when the star pays for her own star. This one was supposedly legitimately bestowed, so I hear. And if true, thank God. Because doing it the other way would really diminish her street cred. Full Story

Joan Jett > Bella Swan

Lainey Posted by Lainey at December 3, 2008 07:36:54 December 3, 2008 07:36:54

My latest favourite bitch Kristen Stewart has just signed to play the title role in a Joan Jett biopic. LOVE! It’ll be a nice change of pace for Kristen especially since she’s to endure more Bella Swan in the sequel to Twilight which should start shooting within 6 months. Even though Kristen’s Bella is infinitely superior to Stephenie Meyer’s own creation, the character does spend the entire 2nd book New Moon crying and fainting and collapsing on the beach under a cloud of heartbreak. Full Story

The Year of Tina Fey

Lainey Posted by Lainey at December 1, 2008 11:40:01 December 1, 2008 11:40:01

Yeah it was. Would you walk away from a night with David Beckham to be friends with Tina Fey? Yeah I would. Is Tina Fey > Oprah Winfrey? Yeah she is. MUCH. But for all the “you go girl” ballyhooing that goes on all the time, the estrogen empowerment movement, those MiniVan Majority screechers ready to rip their bras off, sitting in their plush seats at Harpo Studios, do girls really support girls? Especially Quality Girls? Because if that were the case, why aren’t more girls watching 30 Rock? Bet you more girls have watched those f-cking idiots on the Hills than have watched 30 Rock. Full Story

Kate and Cate

Lainey Posted by Lainey at November 27, 2008 11:53:20 November 27, 2008 11:53:20

Double girl crush! Last year Cate Blanchett was nominated for Best Actress and Supporting Actress at the Oscars. This year, the same honour could go to Kate Winslet, already the youngest actress to received 5 nominations. Kate’s work in Revolutionary Road with Leonardo DiCaprio is, right now, considered a lock. Full Story
