Partway through the show, I noticed a woman in a trenchcoat with her sunglasses on sitting in prime position on the first level, where all the major movie stars were placed. I thought she was a seat-filler. The best seat-filler of all time. Part Faye Dunaway, part Norma Desmond. And they couldn’t remove her without her losing her sh-t. Full Story

Winona Ryder, Kate Moss, Vanessa Paradis… On style, during their respective Johnny Depp eras, it was always just right, exactly right. You knew, on style, just from their clothes, why they were with Johnny Depp. Why they were It. You could feel the It. I am telling you – the It is not this hair. Full Story

Lupita Nyong’o: Best Globes Cape

The very first whispers of the Golden Globes kissed my fingers through Twitter this year, and what it said was “Lupita Nyong’o in…Ralph Lauren? Really?”  Over and over again this sentiment came up. Until everyone saw the dress, and then everyone had to change their tweeting to tired jokes about Kelly Osbourne’s hair. Full Story

Ben Affleck: Globes slow talker

As Sarah mentioned during our liveblog, everyone was slow talking last night. Everything that came out of everyone’s mouth seemed to be tethered to a pole in their throats. Maybe it was Jacqueline Bisset who set the tone. Was it just me or was Ben Affleck extra slow-talky when he presented Best Director? Also…his eyes. Full Story

Kate Beckinsale: Globe’s Career Check

What you want, of course, is to get to the point where you’re asked to present by yourself. You can hold up the stage all by yourself. Sharing is good, as long as it makes sense. You have a movie coming out. You go out there with your co-star. But…what if you’re Kate Beckinsale and they slot you in with Puff Daddy Diddy and Usher. Full Story

Amy Adams: Globes Worst Confirmation of Fears

I’ve always been just a little bit squicked by Amy Adams, but I figured it was my problem. After all, she is an incredible actress who is in everything, and I was in her thrall in American Hustle just like everyone else. It’s just…well, I never forget that it’s her underneath the character, you know? It’s always Amy Adams first, and everything else second. Full Story

Jessica Chastain: Globes Comeback

Sea foam in 2013 was the Worst Dressed. Click here for a refresher. It was SO disappointing. Because, as we know, Jessica Chastain has all the goods. I still shudder when I think about that dress. How could they do that to her? How could she do that to herself? She returns this year in much better form. Full Story

Reese Witherspoon: Worst Fringe, Worst Colour

This…is not an easy hair length. And wearing it with a wispy, choppy fringe like that is… not exactly glamourous. Wearing it with the Miami Dolphin teal on a red carpet makes it even less glamourous. And wearing it with a dress that’s basically a floor length bra takes it straight to the high school formal. Full Story

Paula Patton: Globes Most Obvious Try

Did you forget how annoying Paula Patton was at the Globes two years ago? (Click here but you probably don’t need to.) Perhaps she thought you did though because she decided to do it again…this time with some dirty sheets hanging off one shoulder like she’s on her way to the laundry room. Full Story

Emma Stone: The Globes Muse

Emma Stone is Woody Allen’s current muse. She was there to introduce his tribute. In front of an audience full of his muses: Diane Keaton, Meryl Streep, Julia Roberts, Cate Blanchett… That’s not sh-tty company. Half an hour later, Blanchett won for her work in Woody Allen’s Blue Jasmine. Full Story

Tatiana Maslany: Best First Outing

If you would, please raise your glass to the incredible Tatiana Maslany. This is how you do it right. You go to the awards and you look just flawless, but still your age and effortless, as opposed to some of your contemporaries who put a wee too much effort into being VERY MUCH REMEMBERED, right Emma Watson?   When you are robbed in your category because the show is not very well known, and because you are up against some of the most skilled women in the business but maybe the one who took the trophy is not actually the one who was most deserving because it was a weird mix, well, then, you just sit back, and smile. Full Story
