How do you eat your McCain #Modifry?
We used to take out Every. Single. Night when we lived in Vancouver. Then we moved to Toronto and found a house and now we almost never take out. Part of it is, um, having a very adult mortgage. Part of it has to do with the fact that I don’t travel as much anymore. And part of it is that we have a great kitchen. So we’ll do Polish style pork chops on the stove, potstickers, I’ll fry up some rice, we’ll BBQ chicken, steak, and recently I figured out how to marinate Maui ribs. I say this like it’s hard but it’s actually 4 ingredients.
Anyway, while we do spend much more time in the kitchen now, don’t get it twisted – it’s not like we’re baking our own bread or anything. There are certain parts of meal preparation that have already been made easy, no reason to complicate things even if you have a gas range. Like…
FRIES. Jacek and I are big on fries. So when McCain approached us (and The Social) about doing a piece on all the different ways we eat fries, um, yeah, look inside my freezer – they’re a staple.
How do we eat our McCain Superfries? How about right beside the sausages – bought at the very authentic Polish deli on the Polish side of town – or with grilled chicken, and, trust me, they even go with pierogies. Straight cut or red potato, on a cookie sheet at 450 degrees for 18 minutes, and a side of ketchup. DONE.
If I’m feeling fancy, I’ll chop up some green onions, melt some cheese, throw on some bacon, and add some sour cream on top. You have to LIVE. For another really good recipe, click here. This is what I expect if you invite me over.
Camille Moore (@CAMI_cooks) was on The Social the other day and recommended a recipe for each of us to try. Mine was Kimchi Fries.
Here’s what went into them:
1 cup kimchi, chopped
1 pkg bacon, fully cooked and chopped
4 green onions, thinly sliced diagonally
1 cup Sriracha mayonnaise
Just dump all the ingredients (except the Mayo) into a bowl full of hot Superfries with all ingredients. Toss them together, and then dress them with the Sriracha mayonnaise on top when serving. It was over. I spent the rest of the show just eating the fries.
