Intro for April 19, 2013
Tom Cruise is expected to open #1 at the box office this weekend. Projections range from $35 million to as high as $40. Which, thanks God, is more than Gerard Butler’s Olympus Has Fallen. No, seriously, it’s a relief. I cannot accept an entertainment reality where Gerard Butler is a bigger deal than Tom Cruise. Sorry. And for the all the hype that Olympus received about its opening weekend, after four weeks now, it’s still not broken the $100 million mark so, really, let’s not get carried away about Gerry Spittle’s place in the world.
Our friend JustJared reported exclusively last night that Seth Macfarlane has been asked to host the Oscars again and is currently considering the request. Same producing team so I guess it shouldn’t be surprising but...it’s 11 months way, later next year because of the Olympics. What’s the rush? If you think about it, it’s not unlike planning a wedding. Let’s say you started planning your wedding last year for your summer wedding this year. And someone is all like, OMG you totally have to Gangnam style at the reception. Wouldn’t you want to have a friend around to have your back when you kill that idea because why are there people who don’t understand that things might go stale...?!?
Halifax, Montreal, London -- Faculty acceptance emails were sent out last night. See you next week!
Have a great weekend!
