Intro for Aug 16, 2010
The slow build to the dramatic boil of the Vampire hierarchy drama on True Blood this season has been crazy great. So crazy great I can’t imagine it can get any better. And I wonder about this all the time: how tv shows can blow their loads but still have something stocked in the pipeline. Like hoarding and spending simultaneously. That’s the gift of an outstanding series, right? How can you stand the wait for the new Dexter?
I suppose Lafayette’s pillow talk might help. And of course more Nan Flanagan in leather jackets. As I wrote a couple of weeks ago, a huge improvement on that bitch with all the cows.
Darren and I did manage to make it to Eat Pray Love this weekend and found ourselves surrounded by an Oprah audience. That was when he knew he should have agreed to see Step Up 3D. More on that later.
Am sad though for Scott Pilgrim. Creative filmmaking was a loser this weekend at the box office. And Michael Cera probably isn’t so keen to turn his back on an Arrested Development movie anymore. Especially not if Jesse Eisenberg keeps living up to his hype. We’ll discuss that during the Weekly LiveBlog tomorrow, along with Jakey and Annie having sex and being super adorable. What? Below.
Yours in gossip,
PS. Summer’s not over but I’ve already destroyed my flipflops, not an uncommon occurrence. I’m a regular at Pure Nail Bar in Vancouver, have run into several gossips there on my weekly visits, and they’ve just launched a new line of flipflops called zuza. Am giving away $20 gift certificates to be used as you wish – I recommend the flipflops and a pedicure – at Pure Nail Bar. Interested? Send an email to email@example.com with ZUZA as the title by Friday August 20, 2010 at noon PT. Standard terms apply.
