Intro for Feb 15, 2010
Alexandre Bilodeau now sits atop the Freebie Five. First Olympic gold on Canadian soil. We are nationally enamoured with Alex and his story. While I was writing this, he actually walked down the hall into our studio at the International Broadcast Centre. Don’t think he’s slept. But he is adorable. And so sweet and humble and still excited, and he raised his arms out to the side and we all wanted to cry all over again.
It’s now the Year of the Tiger. Happy New Year! This Tiger is aggressive. The Chinese Squawking Chicken says the mouth of Tiger 2010 is open very wide, very fierce. Which portends a potentially tumultuous year. Her advice: be extra cautious. Like when you’re in the car, when you’re on your bike, when you’re out running, when you’re crossing the street, avoid accidents. When the Tiger is showing teeth, calamity can ensue.
Protective measures can also include blessed charms. My mother always kits me out with strategically placed items according to compass direction that serve to ward off bad luck. She went to temple this weekend and asked for 10. These are for you. We are giving away one Chinese New Year good luck charm a day for 10 days. As a thank you for your support – we are five years and counting!
If you are interested, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org with Chinese New Year as the subject. Wishing you health, happiness, and prosperity with honour.
It’s Monday – am blogging all day. Yes Twi-Hards, we will address that photo shoot.
