This being Duana, please note it takes place at Harvard, of course, and it’s a satire which doesn’t exactly fit in with the over-earnestness of the genre. Because, as I mentioned yesterday, eye-rolling is a big part of reading New Adult. That’s why I try to avoid any New Adult that involves the male character being a “musician” or “rock star”. Because…REALLY!?!? Come on. Also, I refuse to read the supernatural ones. And I refuse to read the ones about a romance developing between a teacher and his student. Why are there so many of those? And what does that tell us about our fantasies?
