Intro for Mar 21, 2011
I often receive emails about recommendations here and there – where to eat, where to sleep, etc. This weekend we had dinner at Ffiona’s, now officially my favourite restaurant in London. It’s home cooking, it’s cozy, it’s like walking into a friend’s kitchen, the music – played low – is first class, and Fiona herself is the baddest ass broad on the block: part judgy bitch, part best friend, part overbearing big sister. She was proud of me when I ordered her pate (she makes it herself) and the steak and kidney pie. She was even prouder when I came back in less than 12 hours and had the full English breakfast. By the way, on Sundays, for brunch, she serves roast beef, recommended with a bloody mary. Ffiona’s has been around for 18 years. That should tell you how much people love her. Am flying home to Vancouver today. Really excited to finally sleep in my own bed. But it’s a long, long travel day ahead. I’ve pre-written the entire column and it will roll out while I’m in flight. More than a dozen posts, including Sasha’s weekly life blog and Duana has Vampire Diaries too. Duana will also be doing Tingles. I’ll be back to regularly scheduled blogging on Tuesday.
