Intro for September 10, 2013
TIFF normally starts slowing down after Monday. The schedule is typically front-loaded and journalists don't stay through to the end. This year, the closing night film is Life Of Crime, based on The Switch by the recently deceased Elmore Leonard, starring Jennifer Aniston. Because of this, I know several reporters who are actually leaving mid-week only to return for the weekend. So that’s the advantage of triangle-avoidance scheduling?
I had to watch it back on PVR last night when I came home, even though it was after 1am. Do you ever have greatness extinction anxiety? Like every time two greats meet, you worry it won’t ever happen again?
Two greats did not meet last night at the TIFF premiere of August: Osage County. Meryl called in sick so it was on Julia to carry the responsibility. Please. That’s when she rises. Details to follow.
