It’s what Jake Gyllenhaal had to do after Prince Of Persia, which was garbage. After excelling in films like Donnie Darko, Jarhead, Brokeback Mountain, and Zodiac, Jake took Prince Of Persia to BE A MOVIE STAR. Prince Of Persia is the glaring eyesore on that resumé. As you know, it didn’t work out. So he regrouped and went back to smaller features. Source Code was solid. End Of Watch was one of the most outstanding films of 2012. And now, coming off terrific reaction out of Telluride this weekend, Jakey’s promoting Prisoners, in which he’s said to deliver the best performance of his career. Also the best performance of Hugh Jackman’s career. YAY Denis Villeneuve! Prisoners is the Canadian director’s first full feature since his Oscar-nominated Incendies. He and Jake obviously developed a strong relationship as they worked together on back to back projects. Both Prisoners and Enemy will screen at TIFF.
Here’s Jake at Letterman yesterday. The video is attached below. It’s not his best appearance at Letterman but Jake at Letterman is never bad.
