January 10, 2012 - Smutty Shout-Outs
Storm’s son Hudson was diagnosed with autism last year. As you can imagine, it’s been a challenging process. But trying to meet Hudson’s needs gave his parents an greater understanding of the common obstacles shared by families going through similar situations. Insurance does not cover many of the most helpful programs and there is never enough funding to supply useful tools to reach children like Hudson and encourage communication. As such, Hudson’s mom has set up a non-profit to raise money to purchase iPads for kids who are developmentally delayed and without effective communication skills. As she says, “Just because a child cannot speak doesn't mean he cannot FEEL.” It’s a manageable goal: only 20 iPads, all to be distributed through the school to families in need.
