The Afflecks remain the Afflecks?
Almost exactly a year ago this week, this was the cover of US Weekly:
Twelve months later they’re going with Swoki Love and inside the issue, the Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner situation is much, much different. US reports exclusively that Ben and Jennifer have “put (their) divorce on hold”. We already know that no paperwork has been filed. Now sources are telling the magazine that “Jen mentioned that the divorce was going through very soon, and then a few weeks ago, things changed. It does not seem to be moving in that direction.”
The two are still living in the same house. And another US Weekly source claims that “Jen seems to still be in love with Ben but doesn’t allow her mind to go there. She just focuses on the kids.”
Apparently Ben isn’t in any hurry either, as a third insider reveals that “If it was up to Ben they would be together. He feels like he can’t live without Jen.”
But there is one counter-source who insists to US Weekly that they are definitely negotiating the terms of their divorce, only privately, and that the plan was always to take their time and not rush through the process. You could say the same about a reconciliation. Ben has two films coming out in the next 6 months. The Accountant is scheduled for release in the fall. And Live By Night – he directs and stars – is looking like it could be slotted during award season. Jennifer Garner is his good luck charm. Wouldn’t it be ideal if their (gradual) reconciliation followed the approach dates of his professional projects?
