I am so curious to see how Passengers, starring Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Pratt, will do at the box office. It's a holiday movie featuring two of the most popular movie stars in the business. Is it a test of the viability of the Movie Star? I mean, obviously, Passengers has to be good. If it's sh-t, we can have this conversation another time. If it's not sh-t, though, and if it's well reviewed, then this is a solid opportunity to assess whether or not the Movie Star is surviving. Should the movie do as well as anticipated, it will further cement both Jennifer and Chris's status in Hollywood. Especially Jennifer who, at 26, is the highest paid actress in the business, and one of the most acclaimed, with already one Oscar win, and 3 more nominations.

So here she is on the cover of Vanity Fair, beginning promotion for Passengers which means we should be seeing a lot of more of her after US Thanksgiving. The article is pure Jennifer Lawrence – she’s irreverent, she’s candid, she’s funny, she won’t talk about her relationship with Darren Aronofsky, but she will talk about how much she loves Emma Stone. And Emma Stone talks about how much she loves Jennifer Lawrence. They were set up by Woody Harrelson and it all started with a text.

I tried. I tried to roll my eyes somewhere while reading this article. I tried to summon some snark and hate on the “cool girl” who farts and barfs and eats and drinks and it’s her thing and it’s been her thing for years but I couldn’t, can’t. Her personality jumps off the page. I can almost hear her laughing and snorting. And I like her, I can’t help it, I like her. Part of the reason, as I’ve said a few times, is because Jennifer Lawrence knows how and when to go away. She actually wants to. She knows she has to. She knows that the farting and barfing and eating and drinking and snorting – oh! and falling! – is only welcome in short spurts. I appreciate that. I’m sorry…?
