What’s next for Jeremy Renner and Bourne
I’ve been tracking the rise of Jeremy Renner as his bid for legit Movie Stardom culminated with The Bourne Legacy. The late shift in schedule turned out to be a really good idea, puting enough distance between it and The Dark Knight Rises, allowing Legacy to take the #1 spot at the box office. Full Story
The Bourne Legacy’s expectation gap

I saw The Bourne Legacy, and I liked it. It’s not a perfect movie and it definitely has some issues (you can read my full review here) but it’s not bad, not by a long shot. And I certainly wasn’t disappointed by it, probably because I didn’t really have any expectations going in, beyond that it would be decent-to-good. Full Story
Crunch time for Jeremy Renner
I don’t know if you noticed—I certainly did—but back in April when The Avengers press tour was going on, Jeremy Renner had the distressing habit of showing up to every major event in an incredibly shiny suit. He had a definite Shiny Suit Problem. It was tragic and horrifying and I couldn’t stop pointing it out. Full Story
Crazy Actor Jeremy strikes again

The first time I saw Jeremy Renner, a decade ago now, when I asked who he was (cute guy, life of the party, of course I spotted him and asked around), my friend said, “Oh that’s Jeremy. He’s a crazy actor.” So he’s been “Crazy Actor Jeremy” in my head for a long time, and nothing in the last decade has undone that first impression. Full Story
One for you, one for me

For you (which includes Sarah from Cinesnark) - Jeremy Renner in Spain promoting The Bourne Legacy. He looks great in that suit. Is it ok to say I prefer when he doesn’t smile? And this for me - Tom Hardy with Charlotte Riley (they got her name right today) at the London premiere of The Dark Knight Rises. Full Story
The Old Bourne approves of the New Bourne

Here’s Jeremy Renner in Rome today promoting The Bourne Legacy. Meanwhile over at Comic-Con this weekend, Matt Damon was promoting his upcoming Elysium alongside Jodie Foster and Sharlto Copley. As expected, he was asked about his successor and, as expected, he had kind words telling E! Full Story
Jeremy Renner, presenter

Yesterday I received an email from a reader called Kendra who complained that it had been 21 days since the last Jeremy Renner post and this was unacceptable. Well, Kendra, he presented at the ESPYs last night so the drought is over. I suspect Sarah from Cinesnark http://cinesnark.wordpress.com/ probably isn’t sorry about this either because, last I checked, Renner is her jam. Full Story
OMG an honest press release!
That was my reaction to Friday’s announcement from Universal about kicking The Bourne Legacy back a week in order to get out of the wake of The Dark Knight Rises, which opens only three weeks before Bourne’s original August 3 release date. Pushing back a week gives Bourne a little bit more breathing room, though they’re still banking on Dark Knight breaking by week four, which, when it comes to the monster blockbusters, is no guarantee. Jeremy Renner kicks major ass
I’m loyal to Jeremy Renner. Ask Lainey. I’ll defend him to the mattresses. Why? He pinged on my radar years ago, way before his big break, before SWAT even, back when he was knocking around town, getting drunk and singing in bars (listen, that dude can SING). Renner is the best kind of crazy—wildly fun, knows everyone, throws the kind of parties that lead to you having Nutso is busto written on your arm in Sharpie the next day, with no clue what that means. Colin could have been Tom vs Jeremy

Every morning I scan through photo agencies to get an idea of what I might want to write about. When I saw these new shots of Colin Farrell in Philadelphia yesterday I wondered how I’d be able to work Tom Hardy into a post about him... because this is what happens when you have a Summer Crush Full Story
Clench up, Legolas!

The first time I saw The Avengers, I nearly lost my f-cking mind over this line. There are so many lines. We could totally geek out for an hour on a liveblog just throwing lines back at each other. But this is why I love Tony Stark. Because he’s the greatest. “Shakespeare in the park” is another favourite. Full Story
Upstaged by grandma

Scarlett Johansson received her star on the Walk Of Fame today. The guest of honour: her grandmother Dorothy Sloan. Dorothy Sloan knows. Clearly. And look at the steezy patterned trim along the edge of her v-neck. Badass, right? Dorothy was certainly the brightest star, and certainly one you can’t outshine, but Scarlett, Scarlett did good today too. Full Story
The Avengers In Russia

My interviews with The Avengers from the weekend junket will be airing on etalk all week. Proper reviews are still embargoed but apparently the geeks are more than satisfied with what Joss Whedon has accomplished. Like we’re talking mega nerd approval. Me I have no idea what the nerds want. What I wanted was more than just special effects and explosions. Full Story
Avenging Men

The male Avengers all showed for The Avengers premiere last night. I’ll need some nerd help on the following: is Nick Fury considered an Avenger? I was picking all the pictures and excluded Tom Hiddleston because he doesn’t qualify as Loki’s a bad guy but how about Sam Jackson? (Easy you horny Hiddleston fans. Full Story
