July 19, 2012 - Smutty Shout-Outs
This is for Lorna and John Levac. In January of 2010 the newlyweds found out they were expecting their first baby. In the second trimester during a routine 20 week ultrasound doctors discovered the fetus was showing major developmental issues. They were referred to the Mount Sinai Hospital high risk pregnancy team. Doctors at Mount Sinai explained to Lorna and John that the fetus's spine was not connected to the brain. It was only a matter of time before the baby would pass away and she would have to deliver. During delivery her body went into shock and she was rushed to ICU. Thanks to the wonderful team at Mount Sinai, Lorna recovered. Now in 2012 she and John are pregnant again and everything is going well. The Levacs were grateful for the exceptional care they received at the hospital and wanted to give back. In 2010 they organized the first annual fund raising event The Levac Attack. It is now celebrating its 3rd year on August 25th. All proceeds go to the Special Pregnancy Program of the Frances Bloomberg Centre for Women’s and Infants’ Health. To read more about Lorna and John's journey and the event please click here.
And to Tami who’s dealing with some sh-t right now from Stacy who says you’re a fighter - I don’t worry about you, but it never hurts to see Dr Ross now and again. Good luck. You got this.
